A very fun flat ride that is rerideable. It also has a large capacity. The restraints are slightly uncomfortable. There also is a long ride duration.
Twister is the parks Top Spin flat ride, and probably the biggest "thrill ride" flat in the park. I certainly enjoyed my rides on Twister, and it ran a program that to me was just about right. One knock on this one is the line, as waits tend to be pretty lengthy, and it seemed to me like the ride crew was pretty sluggish and uninterested. Luckily though, the ride itself was good enough to mostly make up for that, and thankfully the ride lends itself to at least holding a good many people. Anyway, the ride ran at a nice crisp pace, with some really good hangtime and many forceful and quality flips. The second half of the ride, as others have mentioned, is more of a "teaser" with no actual flips of the gondola. Were there a few flips in this half, then the rating would be approaching a 9-10. However, even without the extra flips wed like to see in the second half, this ride still hits the bullseye with a great ride that is comfortable, very fun, and consistently thrilling. It ranks right up there as one of my favorite flat rides at Darien Lake.
This was a fun top spin, but the cycle was really short. However, the first half had a good segment of hangtime and then 3-4 straight forceful flips. After that the ride got dull and only had a few teases. At the end though there was an excellent tease though that provided great hang time.
Twister was a nice top spin, sort of off by itself in one corner of the park. The line to ride was never longer than one ride cycle the day I visited, and the ride cycle itself was quite good. It began with a nice slow motion full backwards arc, giving us plenty of hangtime, before releasing its grip and letting us swing and flip a good three or four times straight, high in the air. The second half of the ride consisted of more teases than actual flips, but we got some decent forward dangling and rocking action. An all around fun ride that left me a little happier each time I rode it.
I really like this style of ride and this one delivers plenty of rotations, with a long cycle,in a more secluded section of the park. Not unique but it delivers the goods.
Top Spins are fun, and this is probably your typical Top Spin from what I saw. The cycle was quite long though, and it was very popular. However, once I finally boarded, I ran into trouble. First off, an obese man just could not fit in the restrains, but the crew kept trying... and trying... and trying... for a total of five or six times, so that hurt my impressions of the ride when it was frustrating to see the restraints go up and down, up and down. Finally, the guy gave up (the ops should have made him leave on the second try, but whatever) and we began out ride. We crested the zenith and started to tip down when... we got stuck. It was a big bummer, and we ended up facing down for about 10 mins, which was very uncomfortable. The mechanics finally got the ride going and reset it, but then close the ride. Therefore, I rode but I didnt get a full ride, so a 5 will have to be the score for now, mainly due to what I consider wasteful and slow operations.
It was fun for a non coaster but its got hard restraints that make for an uncomfortable ride.
A fun ride but it can be a little too much to go on over and over
its a good non coaster ride but the restraints arent comfortable.
This is a really good trill ride. Make sure you dont have any money though, because I lost some change on it.
