Alpengeist is a very well designed coaster. The first drop is very high and fast. The six inversions only make it better. I only got to ride it once, wich is a shame. it really is worth more than one ride.

Alpengeist definitely lives up to its name of being one of the most fearsome inverted roller coasters ever invented. The theme, as with all the coasters at BGE, was astonishing and photogenic. The coaster takes you up 196' in the air (still the tallest of its kind) before sending you down a 170' twisting drop reaching speeds of 67 m.p.h. After the drop, it takes you up an extremely high immelman before sending you through one of the tallest vertical loops. I felt the high G forces going through inversions from the immelman to the vertical loop to the insane cobra roll and through the zero-g roll and corkscrew at the end. Overall, Alpengeist will leave wary riders in shivering cold chills as it rips through the loopy steel track with ferocity and intensity. My only knock on this coaster is that it is somewhat rougher than most B&M coasters, but it's not bad enough to turn riders away as it's still the most popular attraction at Busch Gardens. Alpengeist's definitely worth at least one ride (I rode it twice) so you can say that you conquered the intimidating snow beast chasing you down the rigid Alps.

This is a great ride! The theme is fun, and the inversion is great! The ride is not the smoothest but is still very fun. This is definitely a thrilling, intense roller coaster.

Alpengeist is B&Ms fastest and tallest inverted roller coaster. Alpengeist also, holds the 4 spot for longest inverted coaster. Alpengeist has many small details that do not ussaly appear on B&M coasters.
Alpengeist start&#39.s out going right into the chain lift. Unlike many B&Ms it does not feature a small dip prior to the chain lift. At the top of Alpengeist massive 195 foot lift there is the pre-drop that is featured on nearly all B&Ms. The 195 foot peak is the second highst point guests can reach. (behind griffons 205 foot peak) Alpengeist has the entire drop on a curve unlike many B&M inverts which curve half-way over. Alpengeist&#39.s drop atcaullaly goes under the lift. Alpengeist then slams you into a massive frist inversion the immeleman. The ride then takes you into a huge 106 foot loop. There is then a massive cobra roll. Unlike many B&M inverts there are mid-course brakes they occur after the cobra roll. The mid course brakes then drop you into a zero g roll right by the Le scoot log flume. There then is a few curves then a corkscerw and some more curves. That then leave you at the final brakes. If I remeber correctly there is a massive final brakes area.

Alpengeist a very forceful ride easily takes the spot for my favorite invert. The ride has minamal themeing in the que. Overall an excellent ride worth a good 25-40 minute wait. This ride is not very popular though.

Satan&#39.s Ski Lift is one ginormous invert, and that&#39.s not all it has going for it. Like many of the 5, this white/pale blue behemoth snakes its way through/near other rides, giving an especially nice look at the log flume Le Scoot. When it swings down towards the tops of buildings, or the parts done up like a snow-covered ravine, it delivers the image that you&#39.re perilously close to hitting them. The huge first drop, high speeds and more inversions than I could count all add up to edge out Silver Bullet as my new fave invert.

Date Ridden: Summer of 2007 and 2008. Times Ridden: 2 with once on the front and once toward the back. OK, this thing is huge. Alpengeist is one of the top ranked inverted coasters in the world mainly due to its enormous size. It is an absolute must-ride on the front seat as the view dropping down the almost 200 foot first drop is spectacular. Everything about Alpengeist is big. The Cobra Roll is gigantic as is the vertical loop. The ride is themed very well like everything else at Busch Gardens. Along with Montu (another Busch Gardens coaster) there is probably more attention to detail paid than on any other invert I have ridden. Now, what does all this mean? First it means that despite some flaws, Aplengeist is a great coaster. The problem with the ride being so huge is that the inversions seem forceless at times. It is like the ride is crawling through them offering good hang time but little else. On most cobra rolls, the whipping action pins the rider to the seat. On this ride, there is actual hang time as the train meanders through the element. For the reasons listed above, this is a commonly criticized coaster. It does not in my opinion rank above Montu or Raptor, but is a unique attraction due to its enormous size and gigantic elements. I enjoyed the ride immensely although it does slow down significantly toward the end. It is still fun and is a can&#39.t miss attraction while at Busch Gardens. Thanks to the wonderful first drop, it grades around a 8 which I will bump up to a low 9.

this is a great ride, but very overrated IMO. I liked Montu so much more. Alpengeist is not very forceful, except for the MCBR which was awfully rough, and the cobra roll was rough too, but not many g&#39.s
