A small child was killed on a Flitzer roller coaster in Pennsylvania. Do not let your children ride this coaster!!!

Is it the station platform that makes it unsafe of the ride itself? I was looking to recommend a ride like this to a local park but I would like to know more about the safety and the setup. The platform can be fixed but if the ride itself is unsafe theirs nothing to be don.

i was on the flitzer in pennsylvania that ber0606 was talking about. it was in a fair in york (my hometown). the child was killed because at the end, it braked so fast and the child was thrown forward violently

I recently rode Moreys Flitzer, and I also rode the Flitzer at the York Fair where the kid was killed (injured in the sudden stop, and died later of internal injuries) 3 days before that accident. The main difference between the two... Moreys version has seat belts, the Reithoffer Shows version (the one at the fair) did not. I am not sure if Moreys had belts before this accident, or if they were retrofitted afterward. I will admit that the Flitzer at the Fair did have a very sudden jolt when the car came to a stop, however I still wonder how anyone could have been thrown that far forward and that violently IF they were seated properly. In May 2003, Moreys Flitzer appears to be in very good shape and running well.

Replying to SLFAKE 3 years ago...The Moreys Piers Flitzer did not have seatbelts before 2003. Neither did their Jet Star before it was sold back in like 1998 or so.
