Review of Splash Mountain @ Magic Kingdom

I liked this ride but prefer coasters to Log flumes. The pacing seems a little slow and I expected to see more animatronics. Liked the drops, especially the dark one.

I know but Im not giving it a slighly lower score cause its not a coaster. Im just saying that it is an OK flume, not the best. I prefer Ripsaw falls as Its more thrilling and is more comical. Splash Mountain is not even a unique ride, its cloned all over the world.

There are only two Splash Mountains.

Youre Wrong. There are 3 Splash Mountains. Anaheim, Orlando and Disneyland Tokyo.

Where else is the theming of Splash Mountain matched? There are imitations, but nothing compares to the theming of SM. Ripsaw is a more thrilling, exciting ride, but the theming is lacking compared to SM. However, it still has the second best theming of any log flume in the world which says a lot. I enjoy SM and Ripsaw about the same. They both have their ups and downs, but mostly ups. I can also see someone not liking flumes as much as coasters. What I dont understand is how SM is an average flume. Besides Ripsaw, which ride is better than SM???

splash mt had alot of animatronics and i found it to be kind of funny at times. the drop was good into the thorns and although it was a slow pace, you have to remember its disney and its alway theming first then the ride. with sm, they tried to mix a dark ride and a log flume and they got the right combination of each.

I agree 100 percent with bb_dg; SM is great.

The only person who doesnt think it isnt great is Barnsey and he gave it a 7 which isnt that bad of a score...

I think the animatronics and themeing are pretty good. Its a great family ride and pretty funny. The drop at the end is hidden well which adds to the thrill.

Ok, Splash Mountain is the epitomy of flume rides. Its themeing is the best of any log flume in the world. Ripsaw is just a bunch of cardboard cut-outs. Splash Mountain is mostly 3D plastic. Also, you can get the whole Ripsaw Falls story in one ride. But with Splash, so much is going on that you need to re-ride. TOGO_Fan

Ripsaw falls has very good themeing, but it is not in the same league as Splash Mountain. Ripsaw, however, has much better thrills than SM. I cant pick one between the two flumes, they are both great rides...

OK, maybe my review for SM was a bit harsh but it was a horrible day, I was already soaking from the rain therefore didnt feel the effect of the splashes much and the ride closed down due to Thunder while I was queuing. If it was sunny and everything went well then I would have probably given it a 9. Sorry to offend all those Splash Mountain fans out there.

No man...if you really think its a seven, then give it. It isnt that bad a score. This conversation wasnt about your score. I dont think anyone was disturbed to see a 7...but hey if you really changed your mind then go for it...connect four! ( cheesy I know )...

I agree the fact Hopkins made the ride makes the one in California better. But SM is the best themed flume out their hands down.
