Review of Skull Mountain @ Six Flags Great Adventure

Mixed in with all of Great Adventures massive rides, Skull Mountain may seem like a somewhat trivial coaster. But it is actually quite good. The external building is very well done, with some nice detail and theming. The ride itself is reasonably thrilling also. I like how it starts out slowly passing along the walls with openings to the park, as if to imply "say goodbye to the outside world before being drawn into Skull Mountain." The coaster is quite appropriate for this type of enclosed, in-the-dark attraction. It isnt incredibly fast or long, but it does have some good curves and dips and even curving dips. The darkness is maintained well throughout, which can always turn even a mediocre coaster into a much more exciting ride.

So the saying "The darkness is maintained well throughout," do you mean its actually dark? Can I assume they have patched all the little holes in the building. there were a few last time I was there.

Its not pitch black of course, but it was pretty dark. Sometimes you can see the light from where the track enters and exits the station throughout the building, but that wasnt a problem here. And if there were little holes letting light peek in, they didnt detract from the ride, because I didnt notice them.

Then they likely patched most of them. There were good size holes in the walls last time I was there and it allowed you to see most of the track. So it seems there is still some work to be done but not as much as before.
