I dont see what the big deal is but i found this coaster boring. The first drop was good but the wrest of the ride had no airtime and there was no more major drops. I wasnt that impressed.

Mr. C, are you kidding bra? Lightning Racers my #1 favorite coaster at HP & is my #7 favorite overall. The 1st drops amazing, & so is the whole layout. It may not have a signature element like a lot of coasters, but its still a great all-around coaster. LR just has a very high excitement & fun factor. It couldve had some more airtime in its layout, but theres still some air on it. Remember that GCI built this coaster, & theyre known for their twister designs (look at their 1st project, Wildcat). If you want to ride woodies packed w/airtime, I suggest riding coasters from companies such as CCI (now Setpoint), or Gravity Group.

Just remember that people can have their own opinions. I know a lot of people that consider Lightning Racer to be over-rated. Most of the time they seem to be very well travelled enthusiasts, but still, they consider the ride to be less than great. You may like the ride, but if he found it to be not that great, thats all cool. This is my #10 right now, but then again, I havent been on much. I can see how people can not really like it. The only thing for me is that Im really competitive and I think that what the ride lacks it makes up with the dueling/racing aspect.

I also feel six is low since so many other things are great that even if the ride has some thrill flaws it is still an enjoyable experience. I mean it looks great and has awesome capacity. But I also agree that his review is good since he states his reasons for the low score.

Get a life. Lighting Racer is the best coaster, and one of the best rides in the world!! Show me a better coaster and I will personally go and ride it.

Why must all of your posts be so negative and so... bad-insulty???

Park - Read my post in this review, just a couple of posts up. Your thoughts are called "opinion". There is also a thing called "respect" that maybe you could learn. And based on your track record, you havent been anywhere. The reviewer seems to have been more places than you and has more experience. There are a lot of parks around the world. The world does not revolve around Amish Country. There are a lot of rides that are far superior to Lightning Racer in my opinion. I would be more than glad to point them out and when you get your drivers license, maybe you can ride them for yourself someday. Until then, please dont insult.

Hercules, If I was Amish then why am I on-line? I Have not been around the world because I dont have the money. Until I do I will defend what few good rides I have close to home home. Lighting Racer happens to be the best. Remember, it is my opinion.

Wow... I actually kind of... agreed... with that last statement.

Yeah, the statement itself wasnt bad...but it was horribly difficult to read and had about as much creativity to it as traffic court. Besides, hes gone now, so its a non-issue.

I think its funny how you are yelling at someone for what he thinks... Anyway I agree its a fun ride, but there are better rides in the park. Give me Wild Cat or SooperDooperLooper over LR any day.

Give me Wild Cat or Sooperdooperlooper, or Great Bear, or Comet or Storm Runner over LR any day. Good Concept, but after the first drop and turn around, a little lack luster. Seeing what GCI has done previously on Wildcat and later on Thunderhead (Dollywood) and Kentucky Rumbler (Beech Bend), I am not sure if Hershey wanted to keep LR tame (for their "Family" crowd) or if just by nature of the ride (keeping the tracks Dueling AND racing) it was tamed down. Still... not a bad coaster by far. And you gotta love those Mellineum Flyer trains!

Lightning Racer is a great coaster but I agree it is overated. Ill take Wildcat over LR any day. However that being said it would still have a place on my top ten woodies.

Wildcat might even increase the distance between itself and Lightning Racer on my list of favorites... Hershey has announced that it will be running Melinnium Flyer trains this year. LR has run them from the start (as Thunderhead, Kentucky Rumbler in my previous post) and in my opinion they are about the only thing on LR to get excited about.
