Review of Alpengeist @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg

What a ride! While far outside the park, I could see this green and white steel monster. That was when I knew that I had to ride this thing! Alpengeist didnt deliver what I expected, but it was utterly close. The first drop is long, sweet, and smooth, probably my favorite curved drop on a roller coaster. Than we come to my favorite part of the ride--the immelman. I like it because its so big, smooth, and intense. Then comes the 106 foot tall vertical loop. Next comes the worst part of the ride--the first part of the cobra roll. Ive never enjoyed it too much because its just too intense. It was probably because I sat in the back. Ill try the front next time. After the cobra roll, we head to the brakes. Making a drop off the brakes, we come up into the fun zero-g roll. Then its time for one more inversion--the corkscrew. Last but not least, we surge through a helix above some "snow". Alpengeist is a very fun, tall, and fast inverted coaster. Unfortunately, prepare for some annoying intensity in the cobra roll. Despite that, you must ride this!

I just do not get the roughness comments and not just from you this is just the newest review. I felt nothing abnormal here and only one spot on Raptor. I guess my roughness level is a lot higher. (ie viper, SOB

Did you pay attention to the thing about the cobra roll? I said I sat in the BACK seat. Go sit back there and youll know what I mean. I guess I got a little carried away when I said that it was rough.

Yes. Why do people always assume others dont read. I guess for me one rough part does not cause me to call a whole ride rough. Thats what I was saying.

Ill take back what I said about the roughness. It wasnt rough, it was too intense, which annoyed me. Lets not dwell on that comment anymore.

OK. Since it was three months ago I believe we have stopped dwelling on it. The intensity comment does make more sense, since I did get a little white out effect on that element.

I agree that it is the best curved drop on a roller coaster. I dont like curved drops, but this pulls it off with the swinging action and insane speed.

I sure do know why you like straight drops better (if thats true). The straight drops give you a funny feeling in your gut (if it doesnt have brakes), but curved drops produce more laterals than weightlessness. True, there is swinging action on that drop, but that goes the same way with most other B&M inverts. The insane speed part is also true.
