THIS IS THE NEW ROLLERCOASTER OF THE FUTURE! It was fantastic and it was amazeing, but it broke down three times while I was in line! Its because it works so hard to flip you upside down and make you fill like you are in a blender. It is so smooth too. It is the rollercoaster of the future. I was surprised that it was invented in Utah. It was great!

Good review except two things. First off, it opened 3 years ago, so its not all that new, in fact, the park has opened another coaster since then. Second, the ride doesnt really work hard to flip the rider, the tracks do that and the trains do little.

i think it means its the rollercoaster of the future, like its 4th demension so it might be built sometime past now. Its just saying like that it went to 2001 and itll be buiolt someitme soon because its future and technology adhesive. It shoud eb cool.

I am wondering how heavily mechanical issues should be weighed when rating a roller coaster. I would think that a roller coaster that breaks down this frequently shouldnt get a 10 rating, but his all depends on how heavily the reviewer weighs mechanical proficiency. What do you think?

the rating system is not perfect and it never will be. Some factor in mechanical proficiency and some dont. I use this site as a learning tool. If you worry about every nuance from every persons review/rating you will drive yourself crazy. Enjoy the site, use it as a tool. Find others who feel the same about you regarding certain rides and find out what else they like and hopefully intelligent discussions arise.

I would never rate a ride by mechanical uptime. Thats just stupid. Rate the ride when its running full steam without a hitch. If X breaks down for two hours and I have to come back, oh well that sucks, it may "affect" my riding experience and degrade the points. Say someone who visits MM on Day X doesnt encounter ANY problems throughout the day, does that automatically mean he should drop the ride 2 points because it didnt work the previous day? I sure hope not. Thats not good reviewing. One could argue that Mark should include reviews of theme parks, as I thought should be available for years.

Hey Sephiroth7, thanks for the comments. I was somewhat leaning towards your point of view anyway. My inital comments were purely exploratory regarding everyone elses opinions. However, this is only because The Big Bad Wolf is the only coaster that has been down for maintenance when I tried to ride it. If I go through this more in the future, I might change my mind. With regard to automobiles, those that break down often get bad ratings in my mind, so why shouldnt coasters? It seems like I still have some thinking to do on this topic.

Well if I had to ride a coaster to work, X wouldnt be my number one choice . But fortunately, the average coaster is only ridden a few times and 99% of the time our riding experience is done without a hitch. Im not saying a ride shouldnt be degraded in points if you wait for 2 hours and they close the ride...you have tgo get back online an hour later and finally get to ride it. Then, your experience of the ride may be different. A review should be based on the experience, not the numbers of the ride and that includes the percentage of the time it is down.
