Review of Storm Runner @ Hersheypark
1 Rating Posted by: Cyclonic on 5/16/2004 7:19:00 PM
Great ride but not spectacular, that is how I would rate Storm Runner. The launch is amazing, silent and smooth, and up into a tophat that provides fanominal airtime, but then come the inversions.

Now, I like inversions, but these were strange. They hung you there and just did not seem to flow well, which was proven but the headbanging I received in places. This really lowered my rating of the ride.

Operations of the ride are fantasic, the crew is fast and well trained. The got trains out quickly and efficantly. The duel track setup of the staion really helps in this regard, there is no such thing as stacking on this ride. The queue is also nice, it is well shade and has misic playing in the background, usually songs with a storm theme, like the Doors Riders on the Storm.

Overall, I liked the ride, but was not over enthusiastic about it. The inversions are unique, but they just dont seem to work right, and really dont even look right when you see them. The seem clunky. But the launch is fantastic, and well worth the ride alone.

Yeah, the only place my head touched the restraints was turning the final twist/hill at the very end, and that was only in the back. And even that was only like the headbanging you recieve on Great Bears final corkscrew. Otherwise, it was B&M smooth.

Yes, a fair review. But headbanging? Not hear.
