Review of Haunted Mansion @ Disneyland Park

A staple of Walt Disney. Every time I ride I come away wondering HOW. The effets were great for the time it was built and some are still impresive today. Its scary but not to the point where you can not take kids of all ages. Its a great adventure from the begining to the end when you walk off that rides property.

I also wonder how they make the ghosts. Actually, when I was about seven years old, I went on this ride for the first time and was scared to death. I like the name that disney gave the cars you sit in, though. I also think that your guide is pretty cool, too.

Yeah, how DO they do that? I think it may be some kind of hologram for the portraits on the wall - ghosts seem to step out of them... but it manages to look really 3-d. Pretty sweet, in any case.

I have heard that it is a simple parlor trick. But it manages to boggle my mind every time I ride. I think it is probley simpler than we are thinking.

Yeah, I dont see how they do it. I mean, a image projected onto a box would make sense, but wouldnt be so perfect.

When I was younger I was told and shown how it is done, but I can not entirley remember. I remember it had some thing to do with multiple angles of a camera, or the projection device.

It makes sense, but who told you (a relative, a worker at the theme park, etc.)?

Once I saw it on the old disney chanel. I was told and shown how many years ago at the park by a family friend that worked for the company. This was around 1994. That friend is no longer alive so I can not go and ask him. Thats why I am not sure. All I know is that it works some way with different angles.

Thanks, scubadude. I was just wondering how you find info like that.
