Im going B.S. Ride ops. dont know the fate of rides. I wouldnt be totally surprised if they remove it. The ride belongs out west. Ours (MM) has been running fine. I think its the western weather. Thats the only explanation I can come up with of why ours is usually running and the others are always down. Rule of thumb dont listen to ride ops. Wait and see for the fate of the Vu.

that would be nuts if they took it down and then just put another one of the same type right back up (unless of course it was alot cooler)...but yeah, i don think id believe the ride OPs

Yes I have. And its been running all year except the past few weeks. Thats my point. The others havnt been running at all. Move the other 2 to OT and FT. I have heard thats the problem with the other 2. The weather requires some kind of weird greases for the wheels. And its never right.
DemonRules on 7/21/2003 5:18:02 PM said:
yeah, ive heard that too, that the weather in the north (mainly the winters) really does damage to those types of rides....grease or whatever. but im sure theres a way to fix it.

I hope they take it out and put in an intamin launched coaster (TTD or Xcelerator), even though there really isnt enough room for any other type of coaster besides a boomerang or impulse.
DemonRules on 7/21/2003 6:56:08 PM said:
they could fit a ride like Xcelerator in that space....and i would bow to them if they did
toaddy on 7/24/2003 5:12:46 PM said:
Xcelerator is good, but the Vu is better. Trust me. Xcelerator up and down then into 2 overbanks that were a complete waste of track. The overbanks do nothing for the ride. They were boring. The highlight is the launch and cresting the hill. Even with all my complaints about Xcelerator the ride still made my top 10. The Vu is more fun. At least for me. Nothing like being pulled straight up and back at 90 degrees.

i prefer a launch though....nothing gets the adrenaline going than an amazing launch ride

Yeah, I was over at Great America a week ago and they were running tests on Deja Vu, with the test dummies in the seats. I was also there a few days ago and the ride was once again being tested, but later did open to the public. I was very surprised, seeing as the guy told me that other info. I was actually hoping that they would remove the ride and put up another one. I still havent been able to actually get on this ride, but I could have the other day. I chose not to because it isnt very safe, seeing as there are always problems. At this point, who knows whats going on with the ride. The good thing is that the huge lines are taking away some of the crowd from raging bull.

This ride is awesome and does not deserve a 5. I went a week ago in a wheel chair, because I had a broken toe, and I got on twice with my exit pass. (The exit pass is the way to experience an amusement park. Being pushed around in a wheel chair all day is quite enjoyable too.)

The Deja Vu at SF over Georgia has a bunch of downtime too, but I havent heard anything about them taking it out or anything.

forget that..great america needs to stop makin all these short track rides and make a ride as long as, atleast the raging bull..i mean god..iam tired of waiting inline for 45 minutes and up for a ride thats 30 seconds long
BobFunland on 8/4/2003 7:54:17 PM said:
Same with SFog, we need something of length. the longest ride is the Great American Scream Machine- only 3400 ft!
