ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. This ride was boring and wasnt worth the wait. Scenery was decent but i wanted to fall asleep.

I think the drops wouldve kept you awake. This ride deserves way more than a 2.

I think the rides a waist of 2 almost 3 hours in line.

Wow. I only waited like 30 minutes in line without FASTPASS. With FASTPASS it was like 5 minutes.

I went on it (and to Magic Kingdom) in 97 though. That was WAY before FastPass!

this is one of my favorite non-coaster rides and i dont understand how it could be a 2.

I would never rate a (full-scale) ride anything lower than about a 6 (except for SOB, which deserves it) but I didnt think the ride was up to expectations at all.

it should of got a better rating then a 2

How does the line get to 3hrs long?? I have never seen it that long. And the ride deserves at least an 8. Nothig below is right.

The wait for the ride was almost 2 1/2 hours and it was hot as hell, waiting and standing still. The ride did NOT live up to any expectations I had going on it. Everyone said how good it was, it seriously was a waste and I wont ride it nor will I go to Disney voluntarily again. You pay so much to get into the parts and there is nothing. If your going to pay that much pay $80 for a season pass to Cedar Point and enjoy yourself. My opinion, i still hated the ride and only gave it a 2 because there were no negative numbers.

not go to disney voluntarily again?!?! what are you crazy? disney is great and although the rides arent 300 feet tall or go 120 mph, its the experience and atmosphere that disney has, theres just nothing else like it anywhere. for me, disney is on a different level from everything else... they are above cedar fair or SFI. disney is not about thrills, its about having fun and in order to enjoy yourself at its parks, you must go with the flow in a way and appreciate the experience of such a place, not focus on how a ride matches up to expectations or other attractions elsewhere

That is the stupidest thing I have heard. What were your expectatioins for the ride? Not go to disney voluntarily? Thats un-american.

Guys this comes down to oen simple point he like CP. so he fixed his scores to make CP come out better. cp has 7-10 of every ride more boign a 9. wile this is a 2 and ToT is a 6. is fixign the scores. he also fulof it when it comes to this ride.

bbdg--i couldnt have said it better myself. Although IOA and USF are getting to be just as amazing as Disney...but back to Splash Mountain, it definitely deserves more than a 2. The theming is incredible. Its not Disneys fault it was hot and crowded that day.

Mrceagle...Im a she. Nothing at Disney greatly impressed me and I score how I see fit. You guys have your opinions and I have mine. I like thrills and airtime, I dont like songs and little animatromic animals singing stupid little songs. Im going back MK in April next year on a trip for school. Ill re-ride the ride again and if my opinion changes then I will change my rating and my review. But until then lay off me because I didnt like the rollercoaster.

well, we all know that i agree totally with rockstar. i mean, eagle, what you just said was one of the dumbest comments i have ever heard. and many people do not have to enjoy this ride as much as you guys do. i mean, i find it very childish, and the drop is pretty weak. the story makes me sick, cause i dont need to wait 2 hours to see brer bear and brer rabbit hump each other.

Also mrcreagle if you would have noticed i only gave White Water Landing a log flume and CP a 3. I basically hate wussie log flumes.

Splash Mountain is fun and truly enjoyable for anybody of any age. Its a "Disney" ride and Disney doesnt concentrate on thrilling people, they concentrate on putting people in emersive well themed environments. SM is definitely well themed. Didnt you find SM just the least bit fun?

I didnt find SM fun at all. There is a difference between well themed and overthemed. SM and Disney parks in general are over themed. Not everyone in the world loves to see animatronics around every corner. Like I said before, Im going back to Magic Kingdom in April 2004 on a school trip (not voluntairly)and I will do my best to re-ride SM and if by chance I find that the ride is better then it was last time I rode it I will change my rating and review. Until then Im sticking to my guns and saying I hate this ride. Tacoking I dont hate all long flumes. Snake River Falls is something like a log flume and I like it. The only reason I gave White Water Landing a 3 instead of a 2 is the fact that it doesnt have seatbelts.

You cant really over-theme a ride. Most times the more themeing the better.

when everywhere you look you see some fake mushroom and some animatronic bear doing the robot singing its a small world with a little blue bird chirping dementedly on his shoulder...its over themed.

No, that is reguler themeing. For a theme park, that is not over themeing. For a park like Cedar Point haveing that would be over-themeing.

You might not like it, Rockstar, but that doesnt mean that its over-theming. I think that everything thats there is appropriate for the ride and even for the park. I can understand how someone could find it all annoying though, rather than endearing and I think thats how you feel. If youre going back to MK, although there is a lot of theming around, avoid the rides that really annoy you. Dont try SM again if you dont want to. People are entitled to their opinions and if you dont like the elements of this ride, theres no reason to go on it again to see if you like it better this time...unless, of course, you want to.

I in no way mad a stuped coment. you intentions may not be molitius. but it shore looks that way. you give High ratings to th CP rides at the time I didn;t even seea Flume rating on your profile. wile Disney you gave below avareage ratings to all the rides you rated. I dont know what you look for in a park but you might is wel go to a carnival bacuase you seenm to only want to ride and nothign else. Why did you go to Disney in the first plac? why are you parints payign to send you again is you dont even like the place? the story in splash mountain make s plety of sence and it isnt over themed. but then I dont expect you to undrstand what this ride is based on. most seem to not know!

okay, i dont think any of this argument can really hold any ground. because there are always going to be people that dislike a ride that everyone else likes. i simply find this ride to not satisfy my needs for a good thrill. the theming is a little childish, and when i want to go on a water ride, i want to get wet. that doesnt happen on this ride. i also found the drop to be less than impressive. there. those are my reasons for disliking this ride.

And they are good reasons. But, overtheming is not a good reason to give a great ride a 2.

Demon, the themeing is NOT childish. Its familyish. And you do get wet on SM(well i do).

I simply want thrills on a ride. My parents are paying for me to go again because it is a SCHOOL TRIP. I hate th ride, the drop sucks and theming was enough to make any normal teenage vomit. I want thrills, if i want to puke Ill ride a flat ride, I refuse to change my rating because a few of you mindless know it alls think it was good. When I go to a park I look at 3 things.
1) Good Rides (reguardless of theming or not I want thrills)
2) Cleanliness of park
3) Friendliness of staff.
Cedar Point has all that and much more. Until you are in my damn head and deciding what I like and what I dont like shut your mouth because unlike most people, I dont give a flying ---- about what the rest of the world thinks. I like what I like and if you dont like it then to bad.

No you dont get wet. At least not enough. The only way you will is if you sit at the VERY FRONT. And that shouldnt be the case. Its no where near as good (IMO) as Ripsaw Falls. On that it doesnt matter where you sit. You WILL GET SOAKED (Thats what people come on SM for!). And plus it still retains that childishy, family-like atmosphere. RF is what Splash Mountain should, and could, have been.

exactly magnum, i mean, i can understand MAYBE calling SM not childish. but i still think the story is pretty much a snoozer. but thats really besides the point...i agree that overtheming is no excuse for giving it a 2. but what i stated is perfectly acceptable.

Ripsaw Falls has a pretty goofy, childish theme. But I agree--the drops are way better on RF and you get much wetter.

Rockstar getting an attitude in here.Magnum - SM is 10x better than RF. THe only area that RF beats SM is in the wet area. That ride gets you wet. Once again, SM isnt childish, its a family ride. RF is also a family ride.

Rocket this is A critic site. you cant expact to give a populare ride a 2 and have nobody say anything about it. Im sayign you are lookign at the wrong things. not every ride can be a thrill ride. yes CP has alot of the, but thats about it very few ride have that many thrill rides. even les have the Clenlynes and Friendly staff you asked for. Its a flume it dosne what flume does. actually it dose it 10X better. adn tey have a fantastic theme and story which is what. How is this disney trip getting paid for. most Public schools cant just pay to send students to Disney. especialy when Flyign is likly goign to be invalved.

As long as you have a good reason to dislike it, Rockstar, which apparently you do, theres no reason why people should be bothering you about giving this ride a 2, no matter how popular it is. Unless you were just going around giving every ride you rode on a 2 or a 3, I dont think theres any reason for concern and some people here should just learn to respect the opinions of other people, yo.

No she isnt. She actually gave 1 or 2 rides a 10. Plus Rockstar has only reviewed a few parks rides.

According to drevil, Rockstar is rating every ride (outside of CP) a 2 or 3. I said no she isnt and I added she actually gave 1 or 2 rides a 10. Nowhere did I say she had not been rating rides under 5. So what you said is irrelevant.

I also said that MOST of the rides she rated outside of CP she gave a 5 or lower. And I see this getting closed soon.....

hey rockstar...u waited awhile in line! u couldve gotten a fastpass. or just simply ride during the evening hours or during the parade. that helps.

first of all Mcreagle, i have to pay 500 for th florida trip and we drive. zjohn when i rode the ride there was no such thing as fast pass. it has been a few years since I have gone. My rating is my buisness and not your problem. If you guys liked the ride more power to you i HATED it.

Thats your opinion. I still think, theres no way the ride could get below a 5, but, ok.

I can see your review. Our line was three hours. I enjoyed it, but it is highly overrated. I dont care if I get flamed, because ive always gotten flamed for saying a disney ride was stupd.

You waited 3 hours? Please tell me that all the flash passes were gone for that day. Did the ride break down while you were in line? I *love* this ride, but I would never enter a standby line that clearly advertises a 3 hour wait.

^We never got a flash pass. Every thing we wanted to do was finished so we rode this. The loading speed was horrible. We had nothing else to do, but I would have been happy getting something to eat instead of riding it.
