really? where did u hear this? ive only heard that they will keep viper and rolling thunder, and build a B&M flyer over the season pass parking lot

They better not get rid of Rolling Thunder. Even if we were to get an Intamin woodie the same year that Rolling Thunder was to be taken down, Id really miss it cuz its a good ride, at least a lot better than everyone says. Im not gonna disagree with you that Viper would be a much improved ride a little longer, if it was theyd probably be able to smooth it out nicely, but i highly doubt this is true.

i doubt they would take down rolling thunder. it would cosdt too much money for them to dismantle and ship all that wood. another rumor i heard is that they will refurbish rolling thunder, by repainting and smoothing out rolling thunder, and getting the left side working again by 2004

You guys, cmon, SFGAdv. has been having countless problems with Viper. Not only do riders complain of roughness but its a mechanical nightmare also. They would never make Viper longer. I bet theyll tear it down in a few years.
B&M Rider on 9/11/2002 6:02:17 PM said:
yea but not next season. also screamscape says that the flyer will NOT replace any ride, and will go next to scream machine. They just might extend viper though, since the problem with it is theres too much speed around the last turn. they have the parts already, they can just attach them.
Tucci on 9/12/2002 5:17:27 PM said:
Exactly, Im sure they can just fix up that one turn and the ride would right away be that much smoother. To tell you the truth, this Saturday will be my first ride on Viper, and Im really looking forward to riding it. Hopefully it doesnt beat me up too bad.

i have several tips for u when u ride viper. get the front seat and make sure u pull the shoulder harnesses and lap bar all the way down before they lock it. if they lock it and its too loose, ur screwed. if ur short, ur screwed as well. the rides not comfy, but i love it. it has a great drop with some awesome inversions and a heartline roll that pulls some major negative gs

This ride hurts more than @#&*. They should tear this down and make a giga coaster.
B&M Rider on 9/13/2002 8:54:56 PM said:
now tell me how u expect a giga coaster to fit into the tiny space that viper occupies.
bigthunder on 9/14/2002 2:47:44 PM said:
Well, it would have to have a nearly vertical lift and drop.
B&M Rider on 9/14/2002 3:25:38 PM said:
hah id like to see that happen one of these days. i wonder what a roll-back would be like

Ouch, crunch smash! Creeeek...

LoL thats pretty funny, vertical lift hill and a vertical drop, but anywayz guys I rode Viper and it kicked ass! I took the front row, and did the lap bar all the way down and the shoulder restraints all the way down, and I simply loved it! Its small drop does pack a nice punch, and that heartline roll is amazing! I had less headbanging on Viper than I did on GASM. Its a great ride, and Id be very sad if it were to get removed in the near future.
B&M Rider on 9/15/2002 8:24:45 PM said:
see what happens when ppl follow my advice? they end up loving it! And expect headbanging, but not much.

Tucci--i dont think viper will be removed any time soon. Ive heard rumors that this park will become the next magic mountain, so if they wanted to keep up the coaster count to compete with cp (wow, lots of cs and ks there) they would keep viper.
bigthunder on 9/16/2002 5:55:23 PM said:
What do you mean thisll become the next magic mountain? It is magic mountain.

lol, See what riding too much Flashback does to a person? and yes, the lap bar and restraint thing works well B&M rider, and im pretty short. I liked my ride on it.

yea if only more ppl would listen....GUYS, RIDE IN THE FRONT ROW, last time i went i was in the front car, second row, and it beat me up pretty badly, but the front row of the front car gives a smoother ride.
