Review of Wild Cat @ Hersheypark
-1 Rating Posted by: bboynfuel on 4/9/2002 6:29:00 PM
Really awesome ride when it opened. Doesnt matter now...It has aged and become a very rough ride. It almost takes all of the fun out of it. Id rather spend my time riding Lightning Racer.

This coaster has "aged" well. Its not that old. They have added some bracing to the turnaround after the first drop so that it doesnt sway outward like it used to and that may contribute to some of the roughness. This is the only new (post 1970) woodie Ive been on that can rival the CI Cyclone or the KW Thunderbolt.

everyone else i talk to agree that it has aged in a poor manner and is now too rough to ride.

It really does depend on where you sit on the ride. I find the front half of the train to be much worse than the back half of the train. Thats a plus for me as i love riding in the back on all coasters, but for those who arent that crazy about rollercoasters, and those that like sitting in the front just because they like seeing where they are going, this ride can get incredibly rough. also, sometimes it depends on the weather. If there is alot of humidity, it seems to be rougher although im not sure why. but the ride really has not aged that well, it got rough very within two years after it opened, its the only ride that I have been on that has aged so quickly. But is is still a good ride, a 7 is in my opinion a perfectly fair rating for this ride.

I never said that it was too rough to ride, Im just saying that there is a significant difference between the front and the back. I personally like the ride alot. I dont love it, but it is alot of fun. Its very rare that I call a coaster too rough to ride. Im just saying that it might be for those who dont like rough coasters.

This isnt too rough, its actually my third favorite woodie. (Behind Comet [HersheyPark and The Comet[The Great Escape]) Its not too rough to ride, plus a but of roughness adds flavor.
