Submitted By: ThmPrkCrtc on 5/15/2002 5:00:00 PM
Discovery channel viewers voted "The Hulk" the No. 1 steel coaster. Some various other notes about Florida parks as well.

After Universals Hulk, which opened in 1999, the top five steel coasters are rounded out by "Millennium Force" at Cedar Point park in Sandusky, Ohio, "Goliath" at Six Flags in Valencia, Calif., "Nitro" at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, N.J., and "Magnum XL-200" at Cedar Point.

The No. 1-rated ride by Discovery viewers is "The Beast" at Paramounts Kings Island in Ohio.

I'll tell you right now Hulk isn't the #1 coaster in the world. On the other hand, it is a very welcome sight to see The Beast returned to it's rightful position!

When the poll took place, I would consider the Hulk to be #1 as well, but with X out, that's easily the best steel looper.

The Hulk is awesome. It is a fan favorite because of its smoothness, launch, and intense inversions! I am just glad I got to ride it!

I came to the conclusion that the hulk isn't 'that' great after riding it last week several times on two visits to the park. It seems to be alot rougher than last year and the launch no longer does anything for me. Kraken is the better coaster in Orlando =)

I personally like S:ROS at SFNE. Hulk is good, but it just was not as thrilling as everyone belives it to be. X is definately the best looper in existence.
