Less Theme, More Amuse

This is an excellent article on what Floirda really needs, a Six Flags. I really dont know whats keeping the company out of Florida, its primed for an attraction like that. I dont really agree with the placement hes suggesting, but love the idea.

See, theme parks are about parades and shows and high-priced concessions. And amusement parks can be too, but a theme park will have at most maybe 20 rides if youre lucky. Islands of Adventure and Magic Kingdom offer about that, but amusement parks will offer more like 50 or more rides.

Their purpose is to offer rides. The pomp is extra. The customers are there simply for rushes of adrenaline delivered with as many methods as possible.

I am not sure I agree with you ThmPrkCrtc on a "Six Flags Florida" because the park would be competing with Disney World, Universal, Sea World and Busch Gardens. Also to some extent they will be competing with themselves in Georgia.

I think the more parks Florida can get the better! I would like plenty of variety each time I go back there. Remember, most of the international visitors don't have a six flags park an hours drive away (like me)

Six flags would have a hard time competing in Florida. If they keep it themed thay can't compet SF dosn't know how to theme like Disney or Universal. If they don't theme it peaple will want to know why! The idea is promising but fare fetched.

I think they could easily compete.. They have the whole extereme park moniker nailed. Like the article says, people head to theme parks for the theming, the Disney Feeling say. But people go to six flags to get the crap scared out of them

I completely agree with this guy! I want some good flat rides and big coasters(not always B&M!). I also find my self waiting for the county fair just to get in some good flats...

A lot of the people who travel to go to theme parks. The problem a park like a Six Flags would have is: A) Convincing visitors their park is worth a day of an expensive vacation would be tough. B) Convincing people who live closer to another Six Flags that they should go to the one in Florida.
