This thread is devoted to coasters that are excellent but do not get enough attention. I could think of several that I rode without huge expectations and they just blew me away. Also, some coasters that I haven't ridden just look phenomenal. Here is my list....

-Tremors: This CCI masterpiece looks like one of the most unique and insane coaster experiences. The fact that a coaster in Idaho took the 11th spot in the golden tickets must mean that this coaster is nearly flawless. I don't know how, but I'll have to get to Silverwood to ride this coaster.

-Volcano:The Blast Coaster: This is a coaster I have ridden that managed to make it into my top 10. To tell you the truth, I enjoyed this invert more than Dueling Dragons or Raptor. The first inversion and launches were incredible and it became my second favorite invert.

-Coney Island Cyclone: Although old, this is one of the best woodies out there, period. The Cyclone is not all that tall, but sure does pack a mean punch and tons of airtime.

-Rampage: This "unknown" woodie at Visionland in Alabama looks incredbile. For a park that was shutdown for a year in 2002, they sure do have a great rollercaoster. This is a great example of CCI's twisters.

-Raging Bull: Have not ridden this one, but seems to be underrated. The two other B+M hypers, Nitro and AC, get more attention but Raging Bull looks just as good.

--------------------
-Millennium Force=Ultimate Coaster
-SROS (sfne)=Airtime Heaven!
-Montu=Best Coaster With Inversions
-Hulk's Launch=Best Element out There
-Top Thrill Dragster=INSANE!!!!!!

I think Zippin' Pippin' is really underrated because it was made in the 20's and it still delivers some excellent air time although it is short its still a great ride

Another underrated coaster is Ozark Wildcat , it is one of the funnest woodie ive ever ridden but you cant compare it to Thunderhead since ozark wildcat has no tree surrounding it

Ozark Wildcat does look extremely intense. It is underrated come to think of it as many haven't heard of it. The one thing is that OW is only 2600' long. I did read your review of thunderhead, battleflag, and your points were well made.

thundar run at kentucky kingdom

great bear at hersheypark

jackrabbit at kennywood

those are three that i feel don't get their props.

just for added discussion i believe hersheypark is the most underrated park in the us

it is very clean, well landscaped, friendly the preview plan admission is an excellent deal and its ten coaster cover all varieties. racing dueling woodie, launch, suspended, classic looper, mine ride, boomerang, classic woodie(comet), new woodie made to feel classic(wildcat), mouse, and water coaster. they also have good flats the tallest flume i think, great food and even the games are fun. this place is top notch.

I have to say, after visiting Hersheypark, Great Bear is EXTREMELY under-rated. That ride is alot more than it looks to be. Another under-rated ride is Lochness Monster. I didn't expect that ride to be half as good as it is. Kumba is pretty underrated because of all of the other B&M's in Florida. Nobody ever forget Kumba, it's great. The Vekoma Invertigo's are underratted because of the Deja Vu's. I didn't expect Two Face at SFA to b as good as it is. Also SROS at SFA/SFDL are underrated because of SROS at SFNE

Hmmm... Ive seen a few of these threads, but anyway:

-Swimace is right about Kumba, and its an excelent coaster
-Mindbender here at SFOG is very appreciated, but I think that Revolution at SFMM is pretty good too, but not on the level of Minbender
-GASM for airtime (sorry larry, Ill stick with it)
-Goliath @ SMFF because it is really, really intense. The helix at the end was insane, and the drop is pretty cool- 250 feet down into a tunnel. It was a great 1st-Hyper experience for me.
-The Hurricane at Myrtle Beach, which is one of the most intense woodies out there, plus, it has a couple of good airtime hills

Excellent point about the "other" S:ROS if they all had different names and color schemes we wouldn't have to preface every review of S:ROS @ SFA and SFDL with "not as good as S:ROS @ SFNE"

Let's face it. SROS @ SFDL/SFA aren't the best hypers out there, but they still are very good coasters that deserve some recognition

Hurler is the most underrated ride, ever. Period. Half the coasters here already are well recognized, even Tremors has its own special event.

I agree with battleflag, Wild Fire looks really underrated, mostly due to it's location

Hurler had the best airtime, it had the stomach drop of Apollo's Chariot, plus you were getting thrown up in the air and it was as wild as Wildcat at Hershey.

Has for quantity, nothing can compared to the Phoenix. However, it's not my type of airtime. It's furious airtime (as I would call it, I guess) while Hurler gave me that floater airtime. Plus, it was a little more wicked.

I agree- they really do get overlooked, but I have S:ROS from DL in my Top 10, but it really doesn't compare to Millenium Force.

I wouldn't expect it to. It has some dull spots in it, like the really big helixes. But it's still a great ride

Yea, it really gets sluggish during the helix, but it's still really cool. The one at DL dropped over a lake, and you were so close to the lake it made seem like you were gliding across water. Did the one at SFA have a good setting?

It was in the middle of a field. It had a good view from the top of Batwing, Joker's Jinx, and Roar. It's first turn is right by Roar. But the setting could have been better and could have been worse.

Well, at least it's not in a parking lot.

Scream! is in a parking lot, and I think that it is underrated (or at least it has a bad rep). SFOG doesn't have any parking lot coasters

X-Flight is a parking lot coaster. Out of all the other nice areas of the 600 acre SFWoA to build it, Six Flags chose"the parking lot".

I would have to say that I agree with Wildfire as looking like a very underrated coaster. The theming and setting look good, and its drop looks like one of the best sub-200' drops. The immelman also looks great.

Kumba is a good coaster and is sorta underrated. People think of it as an older coaster, but is still just as good as many modern B+M's. If not for Hulk's launch, I would call Kumba the better of the two. However, Kumba is overshadowed by the superior Montu.

If SF wants to build a parking lot coaster, they should at least make it a car theme or something

sf just doesn't seem to get "it". course they do have cheap season passes and if they ever put rides and customer service together they would probaly bankrupt a lot of parks. and since we already lose too many small parks sf needs to just keep being ignorant.

Yeah, but that's Disney. Buildings are WAY to nice for a SF park

I forgot though, X-Flight is sorta free advertising for the park. It's right by the road and of course that gets people going.

You can build a coaster by the road and still make it tasteful. For example, compare Montu to Srceam, BIG difference.
