I will be visiting BGT over memorial day weekend, and BGW on the saturday of 4th of july weekend.

I'm assuming the parks will be absolutely insane. Do they sell "fastpasses" at these parks?

Any suggestions on how to make the most of my day at the parks?

Thanks

Scott

Scott - Busch does not have Flash Passes

I was at BGW on July 5th a couple of years back (it was a Sunday). This was pre-Griffon and DarKastle. It was oppressivley hot (hit 98 degrees with stifling humidity) so I only spent 6 hours in the park. It was crowded but lines move quickly. Busch also caps attendance and shuts down the front gate on busy days.

On my visit they did close the front gates around noon at max capacity but I was able to get a lot of rides in (7 rides on Apollo's Chariot in the 1st hour) especially early in the day. Also had a couple of rides on Alpengeist, rode BBW, LNM, took the train, sky ride, tried a couple of flats (love Da Vinci's Cradle) and had a nice sit down meal in Italy.

If you wanted to go completely crazy, BGT offers a platinum 2 yr season pass that admits you to all the A-B parks(for about the price of half an ounce of gold) and gives an immediate reride at BGT on Sheikra, Kraken, Montu, and Gwazi, as well as on Kraken and the water ride at SeaWorld after you go through the regular line for your first ride. Doesn't do any good at BGW, and BGW doesn't have their own option like that. Includes parking, food discounts, etc. and would encourage you to go again next year.

I was disappointed that Busch not only didn't offer single Rider lines, the ride ops a month ago just sent train after train out with empty seats. There was a single empty seat in the row in front of me (I was behind one couple), so I flashed the ride op down, pointed at the seat, and said "Single rider." The attendant responded "I don't even know what that means."

Felt like I was at a Six Flags! But hopefully they'll be better organized by summer.

I've only been to Busch Gardens Europe and I can say that the lines moved very quickly thanks to quick loading and multiple train operations. My longest wait was about 20 minutes for Apollo's Chariot, but then again it was on a 100+ degree summer day so the park wasn't overly crowded.

BGE definitely runs a tight ship. Rides are generally run at capacity, and during my most recent trip they had an actual deputy sheriff, not just some park rent-a-cop, policing the line at Griffon. I've seen cops with M4s standing outside the entrance to SFGA, but never near the queues.

In any event, Scott, even on a busy day you should be able to get on all the coasters at BGE. Lines move quickly, especially Griffon's single-ride queue. Arrive early, as larrygator said, and start with AC. You're longest wait will probably be for DarKastle; I'd try to get that accomplished early before worst of the heat.
