MCBR is the worst braking system ever, especially when Morgan uses them for Steel Force, Wild Thing, & Mamba. They completely ruin the second half of the ride. Whoever made them really wanted to raise the whole safety factor.

if you look at some crystal beach cyclone photos you can see there is a block brake section, a train length straight track at the crest of a hill about halfway through the course. there may never have been brakes applied during the ride, judging by how harsh most people thought the ride was, but that section was still part of the design, probably as an emergency precaution. the CBC was, after all, one of the "cyclone safety coasters".

that was the 20s, but who knows, maybe traver didn't invent it.

If it is brake system that ruins a ride I am not surprised to hear it is at VF.

the MCBR applied on Steel Force has nothing on the way it is applied on Wild Thing. I still really enjoy Steel Force, I did not enjoy Wild Thing

I agree Steel force was great, wild thing is comparable to Pepsi Big One only with less to look at.

A MCBR is a good thing if it is done correctly.

I agree The hole point of a mid Course Brake is to have a safety net on the back half leading into the brake run. These brake sections allow more trains from the extra trains on most B&M's to the Dozens of cars on Space Mountain.

Good point on that one Bob. I forgot about how MCBRs also increases the capacity for more coaster trains. I guess people can look at them as being good for capacity reasons, but bad for uneventful coaster endings.

I dont mind them but they have to be placed acordlingly. The ninja at st.louis had a good location. Same with boss but that dident stop you. On powder keg it was neede but that was a lift hill which i could count as a blocked station. On flash back it was not really needed.

If Morgan would just place theirs high up then the train would be able to come to a full stop and still give good air time in the fallowing bunny hops.
