I know that most of us here can pretty much ride any roller coaster we want, but do you know certain family members or friends who're neither terrified of coasters or will only ride certain ones? If so, who are they & how to they show their fear. For me, my lil sister's probably the biggest scaredy cat when it comes to roller coasters. The thing about it's that she has been on coasters like Great Bear, Talon: Grip of Fear, Pheonix, & Jack Rabbit, but she still acts like a coward when it comes to riding coasters like SuperDooperLooper, Lightning Racer, Hydra: the Revenge, Thunderhawk, Twister, & many more. To me, she seems to be a fan of B&M inverts, but she told me that she hates woodies. My mom's also a wimp when it comes to roller coasters because she'll scream her head off on practically any coaster. She has been on coasters like Lightning Racer, Loch Ness Monster, Jack Rabbit, Pheonix, Twister, Wild Mouse (HP), & Talon: Grip of Fear.

My big sister - she's afraid to go on pretty much anything thrilling. I forced her on the Coal Cracker, and then she went on it again with her friends, but that is the only thing with a drop that I've seen her like in the least bit. She says she just doesn't like things with repetitive drops. When she went on the High Speed Thrill Coaster @ Knoebels when she was a lot younger she hated it (well so did I but look how I came out in the end!)

My littler brother - he won't go on the HSTC and I think the most thrilling thing he's been on is the Flying Tigers. And as his TPC Bio says, he screamed like crazy on it.

My littlest brother - when we went to Knoebels, he agreed to go on the HSTC but then he almost started to cry and slouch down in his seat... I had my arm aorund him the whole time, I was afraid he might jump out of the car or somthing. But I am so glad that we brought him on that first. Before that incident, we were planning on letting him try the Jack Rabbit.

My dad - he will go on some small woodies, but he doesn't like big drops or wild mouses. His first coaster was the Thunderhawk.

So, there you go. The only people in my immediate family who like coasters are me and my mom. Pretty sad because she usually doesn't go to many parks with us. I am mostly just a single rider. Unless we're at Kennywood, where I always have 2 people to ride with, my aunt and my mom. They both always go to Kennywood with us but my dad doesn't. They grew up in Pittsburgh.

I'd bring it to where you are making a lake of the East River and Hudson
If I could open my arms wide enough for a marching band to march out
They would make your name sing and bend through alleys and bounce off all the buildings

EVERYONE in my family and almost all my friends are real killjoys and won't even try any kind a crazy ride, with the exception of my mother, but she shouldn't ride coasters cuz she has back and knee problems, and my sister, but she's no fun to go to parks with cuz she's a real $%#@&. I can't get my 2 best friends on ANYTHING, no matter how much I beg or what I bribe them with, not even a kiddie coaster. Good thing I'll be working at the Lake this summer. Hopefully I'll make some cool friends there for the first time in my life!

My oldest sister won't ride them because she has a heart problem. All my other family and friends have rode them in the past years and really enjoyed them.

ummm...wow, that used to be me. I would start to panic just looking at one. The only reason I finally could conquer my fear was because the coaster was back in the woods and I couldn't get a good view of what I was getting myself into.

That was like me too, iScream. Welcome to the site. I used to be deathly afraid of coasters, barely intense flat rides, you name it.

i get scared on launch coasters. i'm old, relatively speaking, so lauches are a new new sensation that i'm still getting used to. they did not exist through my formative teen coaster years and i didn't have an opportunity to ride one until 2003. i've gotten on every launch coaster i've come across so far, but still they intimidate me quite a bit.

I'm with hrry on this one - my first was Outer Limits at Kings Island, and it really just blew my mind. I still get sort of weird on them - the wait in line is kind of nutty for me...

My mom is terrified of heights (she freaks out on the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood) but enjoys speed and airtime, so I've gotten her to agree to ride Revenge of the Mummy and a few other indoor coasters. My little sister is kind of random - she'll ride Millennium Force but then she'll refuse to get on Mantis or Raptor. My older sister rides everything (except TTD) with me, and my dad rides pretty much nothing that goes upside-down or over 100 feet.

I myself have loved coasters for as long as I can remember, and just gradually rode bigger and bigger ones. TTD is the only coaster I can think of that kinda freaked me out.

I agree with hrry and adriahna on the launch coasters. My first was the Laser Loop at Kennywood, circa 1983. The only time I rode it, I somehow managed to get my leg caught outside the restraint. The ride op did countdowns before the launch, and he got to 2 on a 5 count before my screams to abort finally got someone's attention. That and almost getting ejected from Cyclops were my closest shaves on a roller coaster.

Indoor coasters also kind of of freak me out. When it's a production model, like a Jet Star, I know what to expect and can sort of relax, but Flight of Fear at PKD, which was both enclosed and a had a launch, scared the crap out of me (although more so before the fact).

Whoa... I know that I'll be having nightmares about that in a week or so... that's seriously scary business...

My dad will ride anything, my sisters are a little picky, and my mom won't ride anything. Doesn't matter to me since I haven't been to a theme park with any of them in like 2 years and don't plan on going with them any time soon.

I myself was terrified of coasters until my dad and sister literally dragged me on to the Hulk in 2001. The only coaster I would touch before that is Big Thunder Mountain at MK. I could have lived on that thing at the time.

Slowly going up a vertical lift backwards isn't my thing.

The speed of a lift normally gets me excited (I.E. Phantoms Revenge) But with Deja Vu I would just be freaked out that the restraint would break, I know it wouldn't but i would still be scared.

thats true since your being lifted up vertically backwards your thrown agenst the restraint and woried that it couldent handel the pressure. id be scared on ttd because i dont want a little lap bar holing me in it just dosent seem safe.

Right in the normal boomerangs you can hold yourself back in the seat with yout legs, which I always do.

I think would have NO problem going on TTDm but if I was at Cedar Point, and had to make a choice between that ride and another I probably wouldn't pick it.
