You can add Carowinds to the list of parks without opening days. Nice topic
For a head's up, I will be at SFOG on the opening day, and possibly Beech Bend.

Hmm, I wonder what ride Bob is going to try and get on first...
Nice topic, btw, larry, great for people looking to head out on opening day (I am not one of them, however ).

thanks Animan1 - that's exactly why I created the thread
I think I'll try Astroland, SFGAdv and Knoebels openings
actually BFL can't get on Goliath the day SFoG opens because Goliath opens 4 weeks later.

Knoebels usually opens the last Saturday in April. But since the last Saturday is nearly the last day in April this year, you can probably expect them to open the weekend before, on the 22nd.

Knoebels hasn't released their calender yet? Wow, they were the first to do so when planning my trip last year...
Larry is right, it won't be Goliath! Probably Cyclone or Scorcher since both open before the rest of the park opens (plus opening weekend is when they run Cyclone trimless aka awesomely )

I do believe I'm not exactly sure though that BGW passport preview day is the 19th.

FYI - I've added more opening dates, only a handful of parks don't have dates listed yet on their websites

They have a really weird way of opening. IE in 2005 they were open a couple of Thursdays in April for education days, they gave a passholder preview day either in the last Sunday of April or the first Sunday in May and then opened up for weekend ops the following week. Lord knows what they will pull this year.

Same thang w/Williams Grove. When my family & friends tried to go to Williams Grove last year, the day was June 13th, my birthday, & an employee from Williams Grove told us that the park's not open until June 18th. I've never seen a park w/that kind of late opening date in my life.

Cyclonic - thanks for the additions
It looks like some parks have changed openings from Saturday dates to Friday (like SFGAdv) but I have not gone back to fix them all.
I wish I could go the SFGAdv on opening weekend but I'll be at the Final 4.

Mother------. I would go to the Knoebels opening, but my 15 year old sister is having her sweet sixteen, so I won't have a ride. DAMN IT.

Just jumping into the thread to let you all know that I will, of course, be at Coney on the 9th - just look for the kook with the heavily patched backpack (Coney, Knoebels and Compounce-dominant, but with a really cool "I Love Carousel Music" one thrown in to spread the word). Hope to see some of you fine folks there!!!
