This is basically a opinion type thread. Do ya'll think that Hersheypark's doing the right thang in terms of controlling their expansion for the next few years? I'm glad that Hersheypark's getting that Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge dark ride b/c they've been in desperate need of a dark ride in order to finish off their park. I feel like it'll be a great addition for the family, despite its somewhat corny animation. However, I just feel like HP should've done so'em more special for their 100th anniversary in 2007 than to put in a couple water rides back in Midway America in order to make it seem like they've got a waterpark. Hersheypark already has a lot of water rides, so I think that it was just a somewhat mediocre decision. HP could've done so'em like put in a B&M hyper back by Midway America & put in a drop tower ride by Pioneer Frontier or so'em.

I personaly hadn't heard anythign aobut water rides beign instled in Midway America in 2007.

anyways, I don't think they need another coaster any time soon. the park is already congested by them. I know that sounds bad but the parks needs to spread thigns out and look into some other rides. I woud also say move some movable rides into the now available space in the Golf course.

A trop tower, A few more thrill rides. and a more traditional haunted dark ride woudl all be welcomed additions.

Almost all of Hersheypark's coasters are fun and unique (except the SideWinder boomerang). Cedar Point keeps adding them, so I don't see a problem in adding another coaster at Hershey as long as it's different. I'd love to see something better than water rides in 2007, but Hersheypark has been wanting a water park even more. A drop tower, new flats, and a giant coaster (B&M hyper) would be a better move in my opinion. Also, in the long future, maybe Hersheypark could add a giant, smooth air-time filled wooden coaster since they have two twisters and one classic coaster.

I disagree although I would love those new rides also Hershey needs the water park. to really become a top level park attendance wise they have to have that all around appeal. they need to get the people who want more then just thrills.

Giveing the fact that they get allot of turists I wouldn't be suprised to see any water park addition be a seporate park Build it on the very outskurts of the golf course. that way you leave any openings to that area for the park.

It's not the coasters that the thing CP owns allot more land is is using alot more land. Hershey has allot on a miuch smaller area and I have heard people talk about how cramped things are.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I find HP to be the most complete theme park, and these additions complete it even more.

My only complaint about HP's layout is how far the entrance is away from the park. It's really hard to get from Midway America to the exit. When we went we took a break from the mid-aftertnoon heat/crowds and went to Hershey's Chocolate World whiich is right outside the park gates and it was more tiresome that it should have been.

I do agree that it takes too long to travel from Midway America to the entrance, especially at closing (it took me over 15 minutes). However, I have no problem other than that with the way Hersheypark is set up.

I know this is off topic, but I'll be working at Hersheypark again this summer. Hopefully, I'll be at Trailblazer Catering again. If ya'll decide to go to HP & find out who the mysterious RCGenius is, come on down by Trailblazer Catering which's across the creek from Trailblazer itself & look for the one & only black man working there.

park of that long disntance is bacause of the down town area with all the shops and restorants. I like it since its a great place to shop and eat. I've been 5 times but never entered the park.

Also, I remember early last year (January?), there was a quick rumor about them getting a Huss Topple Tower. What are the chances of them getting one?

I don't mind that, it's just that once you pass through the park gates there's a whole lot more shops and restaraunts and then the path curves and there's a couple of boring rides and then it finally empties into Comet Hollow

I have to say complaining about the walk is just not a real park negative. I mean to have a large park you have to walk, I am really missing the problem here. I admit it is far, but it is no different then that massive walk from menstreak, or any other example.

Larry never had the Kettle corn, but they do have good pierogies. Plus outside the park is a Red Robin.

I don't remember seeing pierogies, but I love Freeman's BBQ so much it is unlikely that pierogies would have gained my attention. Were the pierogies deep fried or baked?

I can see how that might be a pain.

I don't think it's a huge problem, but someone above mentioned how they like the park layout and I said I like it except for the entrance. I don't think it's that big of a deal, I just think that's the only flaw in the layout.

Swimace I guess I wonder how could they fix it. Not to mention the entry to the park is awesome.

Larry deep fried and they were out of a booth in midway.

I don't think its worth spending the money to change it, unless they somehow work it to change the entrance and open up land for a new major ride. I just think it's the one thing that isn't good about the layout

I'm just joking with you. Anyway I'm the one who was ripped apart last winter complaining about the walk from the parking garage to IOA. The walk actually didn't bother me but I with my slow walking sister who already had blisters from three days walking around Disney and all she does is bitch about things. My ears still hurt from listening to her.

Personally, I think as long as chocolate is comming out of that town the park will be fine. I aint the biggest fan of the park layout, but then again I havent been to many parks to compare.

Arent they running out of room though?? I mean you got a state highway on one side, and a main artery highway and parking lot on the other two. Of course, I thought it would be a good idea to get rid of the old basketball building and build that way. At the moment though, I cant think if that would work...

Anyhow, if they wanna keep adding on I think they either need to tear down that building or replace rides.

No, they are no where close to running out of room! They have a golf course nearby that has at least 25 acres for expanding, and they still have a decent chunk of land left in Midway America for more flat rides and a little more.
