I was wondering what was your favorite Anheuser-Busch coaster & why? My favorite Anhueser-Busch coaster's Montu b/c its layout's simply amazing. Excellent use of terrain, great landscaping & theming, & it used to be a record breaking B&M invert too. Montu has all of the makings to be the best coaster that's in the Anheuser-Busch parks. I've only been to BGT though, so hopefully I might go to BGW next year for my 17th birthday in June. My parents went to BGW w/their friends back in 1997 & they said that it was good, but not as good as BGT where we recently went to in July.

Apollo's Chariot - every drop delivers superb airtime and the seats are as comfortable as can be. Just a really fun, re-ridable coaster.

Well it would be Drachon Fire But they took it out. So that leaves me with Big Bad Wolf.

the only busch park i've been to is BGW, and that was back in the days when it was also known as "the old country." quite long ago.

i'm not sure i'll go back there because their tickets are very high and they don't have any wood coasters. however, i love the big bad wolf and the loch ness monster. i think those are easily classics of their era and perhaps each may be the best examples of their genre. i miss the big bad wolf sometimes and that alone almost makes me want to go back. suspended coasters are so damn cool, such a great idea. i prefer them to inverted coasters. if BGW got a wood coaster, i would go there and shell out the admission for the new wood and the BBW for sure.

Ya 52 bucks for a park with there number of attractons is prity bad. But they do have a 2 day witha bonuse third day for 69.99 so it you go two days in a row thats 35 a day which isn't bad

1)Apollo's Chariot
2)SheiKra
3)Montu

After that it gets too close to call. As for the wooden coaster at BGW, there were plans for one but they couldn't build it because the King's Mill ppl thought the noise would mess up their resort.

I felt the same way but finally bit the bullet in 2004. I tend to be frugal because in the end $60 admission becomes at least $100 with food and parking. Then if you are on a trip you have to factor in gas and hotels. However, in the end I don't regret going to BGW. Appolo's Chariot is that good in my opinion.

At Williamsburg, Apollo's Chariot. I must have ridden that at least 10 times when we went in May 2004 and in all different seats and there sure wasn't a bad one.
At Tampa, Montu. Good theming and just a cool coaster.

And I will say that I do feel that Lochness is underrated and that Kumba and Alpengeist can be VERY rough.

It's suprising to hear that the B&M's are a bit rough. I can beleave it on Batman DK but at Busch Gardens were they tend to take good are of there coasters.

I will go back to BGW and I woudl sugest any park lover to go as well. Even with there lack of rides. Which is similare to WDW's MK. But like MK the themeing and egalfing areas is worth the extra price.

I don't think Kumba is rough, I think it's a great reminder of oldschool B&M intensity. However, Alpengeist may be one of the most dissapointing experiences I've had the misfortune of riding. For one of the world's biggest inverts, it sucks. What the hell was up with that cobra roll of pain? BBW and Nessie were both really fun though.

I didn't find Alpengeist painful or rough. I've said it before but I have no idea what you're talking about.

I have heard nothing but good things about Alpengeist up untill your post. Were did you sit when you rode? it maybe its just a bad area of the train in that inversion sequence?

I rode once in the front row and once in the middle. I'm a huge B&M fan, but for some reason I just didn't care for Alpengeist, even though I've loved every other invert I've been on. Maybe I just caught it on a bad day or something, because I had some pretty bad headbanging on both of my rides.

I'm with Swimace on this one, I enjoyed the ride but in the back row it felt like I was on a Vekoma SLC.

Maybe the back is rough - I've only ridden in the first few rows.

To be honest, I can't remember where I sat on Alpengeist, but I went on at least 2 or 3 times in a row and I really doubt I sat in the same spot everytime I went on.
Each time was rough, though. I was looking forward to riding this, but out of the four coasters at BGW, I think I might have liked this one the least because of THE PAIN!
Kumba...I might have to retract that because when I was younger, we went to BGT and I loved Kumba, but when we went a few years later, I thought it was rough, so it was probably a seating difference. I don't know.
But Alpengeist IS rough. That's my story and even if nobody else is, I'm sticking to it.

I'm sticking to it, although as someone who visits BGT more often, I can tell you that Kumba can get a little rough from the back, but it's still smoot from the middle and from the front. For suck an intense coaster, it has aged really well.

I never really find steel coasters rough. Sometimes they cause a little headbanging but that's it. Wooden coasters on the other hand often give me headaches because they are so rough (e.g. Hurricane, Mean Streak, etc).

I guess they pushed the Envilope a bit too much on that one. maybe its height is too hight.

A 170 foot drop isn't that long. And yes, I have ridden Vekomka SLCs. I forgot about them - they cause quite a bit of head banging

The facts is that the back of a train whips around more than the front. OTSRs against one of the most sensitive parts of your body (the ears) are going to cause some discomfort in people. Even with OTSRs I stick my hands up, if I was not to do this the earboxing would be minimized. I know this but I'm stupid and like to ride not holding on. It all depends on where and how you ride.

Inverted coaster have a totaly deforent weight desperion then a normal sit down. its allot easyer on a train inthe weitght is going into the train and not away form it.

I didn't think the height had anything to do with it. I thought that the first drop was fine, although not as thrilling as some other inverts I've ridden. I just don't think the elements went by very smoothly, except for the ending, which was fine.

Wow, the ending is the only part I don't care for. The zero-g roll is great but the corkscrew is nothing special and it really fizzles out in the helix.

I admit I'm speculating on what might be th eproblem. Height is the thing that sets this ride apart from other coasters. The availabel land might have been a small thing to do with it.
