What are your plans for 2006? I'm only headed to a few parks, but It'll still be a fun year.

It's too soon for me to have plans outside of the Theme Park Review trip to UK. One of my softall tournaments might be in Dallas, so I might finaaly make SFoT. The Coaster Zombies may have a bus trip from the East Coast out to Holiday World and Beech Bend for their new coasters, I may jump on board that trip.

Yea I'm with Larry that its a bit too early to be sure, but here's what I've got in the works:

Nothing in January or February for me this year

Once March comes around, SFOG will open and I'll visit probably every weekend in the month

I may head to Carowinds in March just to get some rides in on Top Gun and the Flyers. I really liked the park this past March and its close enough for a day trip

April brings the opening of Goliath, so you know I'll be ready for that

Herc has expressed the possibility of going to Florida (I'll see if that's still in the plans when he posts) and I thought about heading down and meeting him at BGT, and I think that was going to be in May. I planned on getting a season pass and doing Cypress and Wild Adventures in a weekend, so if Starliner is opened by that time I'll do it on that same trip.

Late May/early June is when I plan on doing my big midwest trip, visiting the parks I had thought about doing this season. I would be sure to visit Beech Bend, Holiday World, Indiana Beach, Michigan's Adventure, Six Flags Great America and The Dells. I may go to Kentucky Kingdom because it would be free and possibly PKI because its in the area and it's 1/2 off too

I too am headed to the UK with Larry and c-05 (and his wife). This is where some variables come in. Right now, flights out of Atlanta are pretty cheap, but when I do purchase the ticket abroad I wonder if a flight out of NYC would be cheaper. If its considerably cheaper, I'm considering driving from the midwest over to NYC. On the way I would try (again, for like the 5th strait year ) to go to Kennywood and stay with my family for a few days (after all, that's around the time for my Great Grandma's 96th birthday ). I would then keep trekking east and visit Great Adventure for El Toro (Nitro Chiller and Medusa are inviting as well) and then keep going up to NYC and try to hit Coney. I may visit some of the smaller PA parks when going east across the state.

Anyways, thats all just a slight possiblity, depending on flight prices and such. Mid June is the UK trip and I'm planning on visiting Liseberg and Tusenfryd afterwards (are you two going over there as well?).

After that, not much to really say for sure other than SFOG. I'll probably head back to Visionland once and ride Rampage, curse the park and leave, and I'll probably go up to Pigeon Forge for a certain wooden coaster

Anyways, thats whats on my mind now. Other than SFOG and the UK trip, nothing is really definate.

.. but why talk about next year already when I've still got SFOG, Busch Gardens Tampa, Dollywood and at least one (possibly two) other parks for 2005?

England and Holiday World for sure. I will also have SF and CF passes so we will see where that goes. I may have to head to Georgia for their new one. Who knows for sure.

Scott, you've beaten me to the punch about starting this thread. I was going to start this exact type of thread 3 weeks ago, but I thought that no one was going to reply to it. Oh well. Back on topic, here are the parks that I'm neither going to try to make or definitely will make it there:

Hersheypark
Dorney Park
Knoebels
Kennywood (doubt it, but could happen)
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (maybe for my 17th birthday in June)
Six Flags Great Adventure (my 1st Six Flags Park)

If I can get my driver's license hopefully b/f my 17th birthday, the sky's the limit for me. 2005 was a great yr. for me, but I think that 2006 will be an even better yr. Maybe my park list for next yr. will increase throughout the offseason.

I've always associated Illinois and Indiana as being in the midwest. Kentucky isn't but its on the way up there

I'd probably ride Twister 2 and Half Pipe, and then ditch the place for Lakeside

I only can go on two amusement park vacations per year. I'm trying to decide where to go. I choose one, and my younger sibling chooses the other.

1.Pennsylvania- May go back to Pennsylvania to visit;

Dutch Wonderland
Knoebels
Kennywood
Some Smaller Parks Like DelGrossos

2.New Hampshire- If I travel to New Hampshire for a vacation I will visit;

Funworld Game Center
Santa's Village
Story Land

3.Maine- If I visit Maine I will visit;

Funtown U.S.A.
Palace Playland

Day Trips
1.Canobie Lake Park (Definite)
2.Six Flags New England (Indefinite)

Plane Vacations- For one of our vactions, we are considering visiting one of these destinations;

1.Cedar Point (Many World Class Coasters To Ride)

2.Holiday World (Can't Resist 3 Awesome Woodies and an Excellent Water Park)

3.Minnesota (Mall of America, Camp Snoopy, Valleyfair!, and Como Town)

4.Virginia (Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Paramount Kings Dominion)

5.Wisconsin Dells (Have to Ride All Five of Those Woodies, Experience the Water Parks, and Ride Many Go Kart Tracks)

The only direct plans for 2006 would be the NE parks. I'l have to see whats going on as far as other parks.

SFGAdv, TGE, Playland, Coney Island, etc ar all in the hopefull list. If all works out I will get down to PA.

Did somebody happen to say that there is a big year in store for me?

Well, like some have said before, nothing is really definate but this is what I have in the works...

I'll have my Six Flags and Cedar Fair passes (well, hopefully I won't technically need a Cedar Fair pass ) for next season so there will be plenty of visits to Great Adventure and Dorney... not as many though considering such things as work and the possibility of graduate school. And I can't forget Knoebels and Hershey (which I almost did, hence the edit )

Alright, let's see if I can get these Florida plan straightened out... we were originally planning on late May/early June (which is still a possibility) but now mid-January has sprung up into the equation, likely somewhere between the 5th and the 15th since school starts back up on the 17th. That is not for certain, but it is a possibility because flights are cheaper at that time and there are some other discounts thrown in. Either way that means the Disney parks (excluding the Animal Kingdom which means no Expedition Everest for me, but I'll work on that), the Universal parks , and possibly Busch Gardens Tampa.

Then comes spring. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is just a distant possibility right now. I'm really hoping though. However, it's not overly likely. I have the worst luck with this park.

Speaking of Virginia, there is no way possible that I will miss Grizzlyfest at PKD (no matter how much I think the park looks like it sucks). I'm just in it for a nice weekend vacation, good times with some good people and seeing just how good/bad those coasters really are.

I'm also planning a trip similar to what Larry did during Labor Day weekend, I just don't know when it will be. I would like to hit up Kennywood and the smaller parks in Western PA. I would really like to get to William's Grove since I missed out on it this year because of that damn flat tire. Hopefully that park along with Conneaut Lake will be open next year.

Another place that I'm considering is Morey's Piers so I can get on Great White and the other things that I missed the last time I was there.

I would also like to get to Coney Island, so if you are going B. Fun let me know and hopefully I could get there.

Oc-BoulderFest is basically a definate because I don't want to miss that. On the way up I might hit Quassy if they add anything worth visiting for. If I feel up to it or have the time and depending upon how their season works I could end up going up to something like Canobie or one of the smaller New England parks, or, *sigh* go to Six Flags New England.

Cedar Point is always in the back of my mind, but like BGW, I have had bad luck with that too.

Anyway, that kind of rounds it out. Hopefully I can get most of that in and maybe even more. The "midwest" thing with B. Fun is really distant, but maybe if you decide to hit up something like PKD I could get out there for something like that.

Driving up to Mass where I used to live before I came here to Florida, picking my friends up there, and heading to NJ for El Toro and Kingda Ka.

Not sure what else will happen that year, park related.

ill might be getting a DP season pass instead of GAdv (since we moved more north, we are about the same distance to both parks). either way, ill be hitting up both at some point. i hope to actually make it out to clementon finally, as well as lakemont. in addition to those, i think we are planning to go to coastercon next year at WDW (and hopefully IOA as well, still need to check that park out). ill be goin to florida over spring break so between that and the coastercon, id also really like to get out to BGT. i would also love to get to HW and beechbend but that might have to wait for another year.

My agenda is pretty much set. I am not sure if I will be getting a Clementon season pass again this year, maybe I will to keep the park running. I am planning on hitting SFGAdv a few times, Hersheypark, BGW, and either PKD or SFA or maybe both.

Has there been anymore news on the fate of Clementon yet or no? I would really like to be able to make it back there next year too.

I'm gonna go to sfgadv definently, Dorney, BGW, and we might be going to Hershey park as well. We've also been talking about going to Cedar Point but i doubt that that is going to happen.

Good good. I'm not excited at all about the Chance Revolution because the couple that I have been on aren't that great. Good addition for the park though. I'm just glad that the park will be open (well hopefully) and that I will be able to enjoy the place again.

I doesn't appear that construction has started over at Clementon, there are no signs of it. I don't know where they would put the ride, but it doesn't appear any rides are being removed. Who knows whats happening.

I just moved to Albuquerque, across the street from Cliff's Amusement Park. I will be walking to the park on a daily basis. The N.M.Rattler will strike again in April. (I can hardly wait).
I will also be making regular trips to see my Mom in El Paso. She lives about 5 miles from the new Western Playland. The park plans to open in 2006.

That is interesting. I would think that if construction hasn't started that it probably won't happen. That seemed a little far fetched in the first place anyway. I couldn't see them making that kind of investment with them being in financial trouble. Hopefully they just open then.

My girlfriend and I have been talking about doing a trip in the spring. I'd love to take her to Universal and maybe do a day trip to BGT (she's never been) but the thoughts of going to Dollywood, Branson and even visiting my grandma Myrtle Beach came up too. Not really sure of anything right now..

I'm probably going to head to Florida before then too. I think I am going to purchase a platinum pass or whatever its called and do both BGT and Sea World. Which leads me to..

My mom said she wants to do a 2-week vacation in Texas so right now the San Antonio parks (more use of that platinum pass) and the two Schlitterbahns in the area are potential stops too...

... anyways thats my "update"

BFL - I'm not sure if the platinum pass is even worth it. I looked into getting it the year I was going to San Antonio, San Diego and Orlando for softball. I was going to try to hit up the 3 Sea World parks and the 2 Busch parks, but I remember the platinum pass close to the same cost as a single day admissin to each park (after my AAA discount). In the end I would not have had time for Sea World San Diego or San Antonio. However, if you make it to Florida twice that would change things.

Being good for 2 years helps. I looked at it like this: two Sea Worlds this year and probably 2 trips to BGT this year. Next year I will probably go back to BGT with the pass and would be more inclined to visit BGW over a weekend, adding two more visits. Once you throw in the free parking everywhere and half off when I bring Christina or other friends, it adds up to save some money. It's just been a thought of mine...

By the way is it worth the approx. $30 extra to shoot down to Boomers while in Orlando and take a few rides on the DB Hurricane?

You can buy an all day ride ticket for 10 bucks, I think. It's a great deal, and it's a great ride. However, I doubt its worth the 250 mile drive. My sister lives down in miami, she says the traffic can get pretty bad. I remember she tried to meet me at mgm studios, but she showed up 4 hours late due to traffic.

I didn't think it was that great of a ride. It was fun and smooth with decent airtime, but it was also really short. It's a pretty long drive for a coaster that IMO is just a little bit above average. There is one REALLY good airtime spot that I thought was awsome, but you can get just as good air on Mummy or SheiKra. That's just my opinion. The ride definatly doesn't suck, but it also isn't that amazing hidden gem that it's hyped up to be.

OK, color me stupid! I did not realize the Busch passport was good for two years. I should have bought one in early 2004. I could have even done Sesame Place and gotten a cheap coaster credit on Vapor Trail.

DBH is a very good coaster, $14.95 is a good price for an all-day wristband. Definitely worth multiple rides in different cars. But I don't think it is worth the time of driving the three hours each way just for DBH. When are you in Florida? If in March I would consider catching a Spring Training game or if later in the summer watch the new "minor league" team, the lw budget and depleted Florida Marlins. Tickets should be easy to come by.

It's way more than 3 hours from Orlando to the DBH, it's like 4 or 5, and that's without hitting too much South Florida traffic

I may actually end up in Florida three times this spring. I may go in April with the girl, probably in March (good idea about the spring training - too bad they don't offer single game World Baseball Classic tickets because I've looked into that before) and maybe even later this month.

A two-day trip to Miami to check out the DBH and my pathetic Marlins playing in Larry's pathetic Dolphins stadium before they move wouldn't be so bad though. Could be a nice weekend. What's the worst that could happen, I run into Nemmy?

I talked to my mom today and she actually wanted to go to Texas around the week I was planning on heading up to Indiana Beach and such so I may need to rework that a bit if I can... ahh hardly anything is ever really final with me anyways until a week or two before I leave
