Looking back at this thread

How did your plans turn out for 2005? We ended up a little better than I had hoped.

Magic Kingdom
Epcot
MGM Studios
Animal Kingdom
BGW
PKD
CP (2x)
GL (3x)
Kennywood
Conneaut (2x)
Waldameer
Indiana Beach
SFGAm
SFNE
Lake Compounce
Idlewild
Dorney
DelGrosso's

Still have trips to...
Kennywood (PFN)
Knoebel's (PPP)
Dorney
CP
GL

My husband, the bum that he is , also got to visit SFMW and SFoG thanks to having to travel for his job. Our daughter hit the 48" mark this summer so things are much more interesting now that she can ride more. No more spending hours in the kiddie land

I did better than expected. I originally planned to visit PKI, Geauga, Holiday World, SFKK, as well as MIA, SFGAm, IB and the Dells, but I put that off until next year. In place of that I hit some parks that I didn't even plan on visiting. So, here is my 2005 so far:

January 6-8: Universal Orlando
March 13: First of (so far) 16 visits to SFOG
March 19: Paramount's Carowinds
March 20: Paramount's Kings Dominion
March 21: Busch Gardens Williamsburg
May 19: Six Flags Great Adventure
May 20: Dorney Park
May 21: Hersheypark
May 22: Knoebels (TPC Con I )
May 29: Conneaut Lake Park
June 3: Martin's Fantasy Island
July 6: Paramount Canada's Wonderland
July 13: Six Flags Darien Lake
July 23: Lake Compounce
July 24: Six Flags New England (complete with a larrygator sighting!! )
July 24: Hoffman's Playland
August 7: Myrtle Beach Pavilion
September 3: Lake Winnepesaukah

.. still to come: more SFOG, more than likely Busch Gardens Tampa on October 14th, and Dollywood on November 19th.

A strong possibility of 21 parks for me, much better than I ever anticipated.

I did about what I thought I was going to do:

Dorney Park (about 18 times with a couple more visits to round out the year to come)
Six Flags Great Adventure (about 9 times with one coming this Saturday and maybe a trip for Fright Fest)
Knoebels (TPC Con I )
Six Flags New England
Lake Compounce

Still to come:
The previously mentioned Dorney Park and Great Adventure trips.
Phoenix Phall Phunfest at Knoebels
Six Flags America in a couple of weeks with a possible stop at Blue Diamond Amusement Park on the way.

Missed:
William's Grove Amusement Park (damn tire)

Not bad for a rookie. Next year is going to kick butt though

Wait Scott, which weekend are you talking about? Is it the weekend of September 17th or the 24th? Because I'll be there on the 24th myself and I'm actually looking for someone to meet up with. Just curious.

Run Scooter! Run!

I didn't make it to any of the out of state parks I thought I might, but that's alright. I hit the Florida parks as expected, and even went to a new one with Cypress Gardens. Good year, good year, and it's not finished yet.

You all will probably kind of laugh at my paltry list but I have a family of 4 so it isn't quite that simple to get around, however for us, this was a great year:

Paramount's Carowinds - April
Busch Gardens Williamsburg - June
Mrytle Beach Pavilion - July
Paramount's King's Dominion - August

We have a trip planned for 14-16 of October for Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Florida.

But next April will be the big one. Disney World with a 5 and 8 year old.

We did that this March with a 6 and 8 year old. We had a blast. No need to be scared.

My 2005 yr. of coaster riding was actually my best one yet. Now don't laugh at me ya'll b/c I don't get to go to as many amusement parks as ya'll do. Remember, I still live w/my family who's not as crazy about amusement parks & coasters like I am. Here's how my 2005 coaster yr. went down:

Hersheypark (a lot)
Dorney Park (9/24)
Universal Studios Florida (7/3, 7/5, & 7/8)
Islands of Adventure (7/5 & 7/8)
Busch Gardens Tampa (7/6)
Cedar Point (7/25 & 7/26)

I just can't wait until next yr. b/c I'll have my driver's license b/f next summer. By next yr., I'll be able to go to a lot of amusement parks from around the East Coast.

Wow, you guys really get around. Luckily, my job took me to some cities with parks so that helped. Unfortunately, it didn't help when PKI closed in April because of SNOW!!!! Also driving back from SFNE & LC I went right past Rye Playland only I didn't know it'd be open much later than 9. If I would've done my homework, that wouldn've been one more.

Busch Gardens Tampa (May)
Six Flags America (August) 100 degree weather and a power outage)
Six Flags New England
Lake Compounce
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (planned for 10/2)

So 5 for 2005, with 2 new parks. That ain't bad for me that's about as many as I usually get to.

Duh, stupid me. I was able to get to Clementon. I don't think mentioned that in my first post.

bb, I don't think that Clementon is open anymore so I don't think you are going to make it. They cancelled the rest of their season.

Mine was pretty laid-back:

Knoebels
Trimper's Amusements
Rehoboth Funland
Coney Island
Keansburg
Great Adventure

... although, I have to say, the small quantity was made up in quality - this year I was lucky enough to meet up with Cyclonic at Knoebels, and darkridrMD at both Knoebels and Trimper's. Two very cool people.

This was definitely one of those quality over quantity years for me. I accomplished two major goals in getting to Shivering Timbers and Hades, but my overall numbers were low.

Michigan's Adventure
Timber Falls Adventure
Mt. Olympus Theme Park
Riverview Park

I'll probably also get in a trip to Cedar Point and maybe PKI before it's all over.

On a philosophical note, I'm pretty much at the point where adding another Six Flags to the resume or revisiting the old standbys is no longer a major goal. Of course, I'll always ride any roller coaster that I reasonably have a chance to, but I'm more into seeking out "destination rides" these days and making a trip of getting to those coasters I've always heard about but never had the chance to ride.
