Hey, everyone -

Larrygator mentioned the old subject recently - and I'm voting that we all try to make it happen... a TPC summer get-together. The place - Coney Island. As I'm usually free to meet up, I'll leave it to you all to suggest some dates that work for you. I've had a great time meeting with darkridr and Cyclonic - I think this could be a cool experience for everyone. Any takers, and any suggestions regarding a date??? Thanks.

I'm out of town next weekend so I'll suggest weekends when I'm available the following 8/20, 8/21, 8/27, 8/28, 9/3, 9/5 (Sunday 9/4 will be packed as it is Latin Fiesta Day). Unfortunately, they don't have unlimited wrist bands on weekends/holidays except for specials. However, if anyone belongs to a union and wants to pretend we are one family you can get an unilimited wristband for 8/20 or 8/28.

i will be in brooklyn and queens on the 19th-21st of this month. however i am attending a very elaborate indian wedding which contains vast and numerous activities threaded throughout each day. i described the cyclone to my girlfriend as a near death experience (in the spiritual sense, not in the banal sense of flying off the ride...) and she's mostly convinced we should sandwich it in between the henna tattoos and buhut garam masala. so unfortunately it looks like hit it and quit at coney island for me. i think i will go on the 20th in the late afternoon or evening. i can't recall which side of the cyclone bench gets squished more? my girlfriend is very petite and i'd hate to bruise her up with my boney hips on our little trip.

Enjoy that wedding, Traver - I've been to some very interesting ones (including my own, in which the reception took place in the lobby of a 1929 movie palace, complete with a traditional jazz band playing on early instruments... what a blast), but I have yet to experience an Indian wedding. I've heard they're incredible. Anyhow, back on topic...

I just found out that I'll be in NYC the weekend of the 16th & 17th of September. I was going to try to make a trip to Wildwood that Sunday (Clementon is closed), but I'm always up for a trip to CI, if anybody's going to be around.

I may be able to make it up some upcoming weekend. The only one I know I can't make is Labor Day weekend. I have some friends I'm trying to convince to ride up with me to experience CI.

Yup - Coney's officially back on my list, now that the B&B's been rescued. When it's fate was still in limbo, I knew it would be difficult as heck to visit without breaking into tears, so I had avoided it - but now, it's way time.

adriahna of anyone else- i'll be checking out CI today, saturday, after a two year hiatus. i was so excited about riding cyclone i had an anxiety dream last night. in the dream, i took my first ride on cyclone and it got stalled halfway up to the first turnaround. we had to get "rammed" from behind by another train to get dislodged and continue the circuit. then we had to go around and ram THAT train, which was stuck in the same spot. this kept going on over and over, plus the whole track seemed slow and lethargic. the cyclone had lost all of it's chutzpah. it was a horrible scene. i complained to the operators like "this ride used to be incredible. what is going on?" they kept blowing me off -"hey man, it's the CYCLONE, show some respect." it was awful. in the dream i kept telling my girlfrind "this must be a dream. this can't be happening. cyclone has never run this crappy...." it was also a typical dream with a lot of pretty random stuff like in one part i was in a kitchen (?) under the cyclone doing the dishes. (?!) anyway i was relieved as heck to find out it was a dream. if anyone NYC oriented goes by the rear car of the cyclone this afternoon i'll be there. and if not there, probably on the boardwalk smoking my calabash pipe and checking out the crazies.

Darnit, traver - if only I had noticed this earlier today! I was on errands all afternoon, but would have put them off... hope you had a good time, and that the old girl still has the old spirit. I'll be out there soon.

I saw it earlier but had a ton to do today so I didn't ask what time you were going. I'm still up next time someone makes a weekend trip

i was anxious all morning yesterday, i think the cyclone dream just colored it that way. we were very late leaving baltimore and it was raining, which also made me tense. by the time we got around the six flags exit on the turnpike, the sun came out and it turned into a gorgeous day. me and my girl gave six flags the finger as we sped past and on we went to CI. the cyclone was totally brilliant and it won me over once again. many many rerides. my girlfriend loved it and couldn't stop talking about how amazing it was. the boardwalk was reflecting the amazing weather as well. there was a prism tapestry of lunacy out there like i've never seen in coney. many were out feeling the good vibes. additionally, there was a strangely "un"-tight puerto rican salsa band jamming on the boardwalk through one of the most distorted sound systems i've ever heard. they sounded really really good, although they were not a precision outfit to be sure. all in all a great day......it was a little too short a trip to make a TR, so here it is....this is my TR.
