How many people go to amuement/theme parks and visit a wide variety of attractions instead of riding coasters all day long. I'm just curious.

It's pretty much all coasters for me but sometimes if the park has a cool flat ride I'll ride it, like at Cedar Point i always ride the Cedar Downs Racing Horses.

When I go to the park by myself I tend to hit up the coasters first thing and then branch off and do other things if I feel like it. When I am with my girlfriend, we just ride anything that we see. She is crazy like that. Some people wouldn't sign up for a scientific experiment that put so many forces on their bodies and flipped and turned as many times as we get over the course of a visit, but we do it volunterily.

I usually want to do the coasters first but I am finding more and more that my favorite parks are more then just coasters. For example here is the order for my favorite parks on my last vacation.

Adventureland
Camp Snoopy
Timberfalls
Valleyfair
Mt olympus.

I'm the same as Herc, except I don't go to the park with his girlfriend.

I'll pretty much ride anything. If I've already waited an hour in line for a coaster, I may go to a flat next just to temporarily avoid another long line. I would usually take a dark ride over a coaster but not necessarily for back to back rides.

I usually go to one side of the park, and work my way over riding evreything that I want to. It dosent matter what it is, a coaster or a flat.

It depends.

My first destinations are always the big coasters, no matter what. My first day at a park I rarely ride anything but the coasters. However, once I've got all the coasters done here are my favorite non-coaster rides to try:

-Log flumes and similar rides
-River rapids rides
-Dark rides (only good ones though)
-Swing rides (don't know why but I like them a lot)
-Bumper Cars

I try to ride everything. I mean, I don't ride EVERY Tilt-A-Whirl, but I enjoy most park rides so I ride everything I can and do whatever I feel like. As long as I can hit all the coasters by the end of the day, I'll ride other stuff.

I ride everything. I do go on all the coasters. but I stil hit the rides. it's not uncomon for me to have 3-6 ride in a day on a none coaster ride at a park.

If I go to Santa's Village in December the coaster is normaly not open so I spend all day on rides.

If I go to SFGAdv and all the coaster lines are long, then I'll ride all the flatrides open; I have a season pass so I could care less if I don't ride some coasters on a particular day.

I actually like flatrides bit more than coasters. That is why I love going to carnivals and places like Astroland that are packed with crazy rides. Don't get me wrong though, a nice backseat ride on any coaster is great!

I ride anything I can ride, except large drop towers, and pendulum rides. I hate the feelings you get on those rides. Usually, I head for one of my favorite rides first, then do all the other rides. I love going on the water rides, like log flumes and wet/dry water slides, regardless of the line. I also enjoy bumper cars, and many other rides.

I'm just at amusement parks for the coasters straight up. I'll ride some flat rides only if they're ones that I'll really enjoy from the start. I'm in no way a spinning ride fan b/c they make me really dizzy when I get off. Good thing I don't puke after a spinning ride, but I won't ride spinning rides that'll spin you around like crazy. That's why when I went to CP, I didn't mention MaxAir at all b/c I didn't ride it. I can do rides like a Scrambler or Tilt-a-Whirl, but nothing else. Only KW's Exterminator's an exception b/c I didn't feel the spinning action until at the end of the ride & I didn't get that dizzy feeling afterwards. I also don't really ride water rides unless it's 80-85 degrees outside or higher.

Depends on the park, and what sort of flats they have to offer. Here's an example: when I was at GAdv recently, I focused mostly on coasters, with a quick visit to Houdini's Escape - that's a somewhat unique flat that I always enjoy, so I made a point of stopping by. However, if the park has a stellar selection of unique flats (say Knoebels or Kennywood), I'll focus equally on those.

At my home parks I ride mostly coasters, waterslides, and I see the shows, and I ride some flat rides also. so when I go to another park out of state I like to spend a few days and see the shows, coasters, waterparks, and whatever else that interests me.
