I'm thinking about going to Cedar Point on 6/27. Is that, Monday, a good day to go, or should I go on a different day.

Which is the best hotel for 3 people?

Which order should I go on rides?

Can I walk from the hotel to Cedar Point?

If there is anything you think I need to know, please tell me.

Well, I stayed at the breakers express. It was cheap and had a very nice room for what I paid. The best part about it is that they let hotel guests staying at CP in 30 minutes early.

If you get to the park a half hour early hit raptor. I rode the front without waiting, wow. it was great. Go back and Ride MF until the park opens to the public. Head over to dragster and take a spin on it. By then the wait for most rides should be very looooonnnnnnggggg. Ride magnum, because it has great capacity and it's a good ride. You can try to hit up WT but it always has a long wait. Head towards the back of the park and do gemini. By then you'll have hit most of the great rides in the park.

Yes and no. If you stay at breakers express you'll need a rental car. If you stay at hotel breakers or the campground you could walk.

Use their fastpass system. It can help a lot.

My mom said no to Breakers Express . She wants to stay in one that is in Cedar Point, or the ones that look like they are. Which of those ones are the best?

Sundays always work the best for me, crowd wise.

If your mom wants to stay somewhere in the park, the only options you have are the Breakers and Sandcastle Suites, with Breakers being a bit cheaper. If you like the great outdoors, there's also Lighthouse Point (cabin complex) and Camper Village (camping complex). All information as well as some coupons can be found here.

I'd say pick either MF or TTD to ride first, since they are the most popular rides in the park. Do not ride Raptor early in the day, lines tend to die out as the day goes on. You shouldn't have a problem getting on all of the coasters no matter the crowd, except for maybe Jr. Gemini.

From the hotels/accomodations already located on the peninsula. The other hotels, including Castaway and Breakers Express, have a shuttle bus.

On the day of your trip, don't worry about anything, including crowds. Go in with an open mind, and take it easy. Don't rush yourself whatsoever. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy your visit. It will probably be one that you'll remember for a long time.

So, you're sure don't go on a weekday, go on a Sunday? Because I'm only going for 3 days. 1 day to get there, one day for the park, and 1 day to leave.

And, which is the best seat on Millennium Force?

I'd imagine it's just like all the other hyper/giga coasters out there. THE BACK!!!

I always found Sundays to be the least crowded. Saturday is probably the busiest day of the week. I visited the park twice this year, both weekdays, and on both days, the park was pretty crowded (and schools didn't let out yet.

From CP.com: "Cedar Point recommends visiting on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, when attendance is lower. Contrary to popular belief, holidays such as Memorial Day and Labor Day do not result in unusually large crowds. The months with the lowest attendance are May, June and September."

For the best view, the front. For the best speed/airtime, the back.

What? Breaker Express still has everything that the other hotels have, early rides etc. You just have to take the shuttle over the lake.

The front. Just trust me. The very front.

The phrasing of your questions is confusing:
If you stay at any of the following you can be admitted to the park early: Breakers Express, Breakers, Castaway Bay, Sandcastle Suites, Lighthouse Point or Camper Village.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I'm not going to Cedar Point anymore because my dad only has one other person working. He knew how much this meant to me, he could have done something. This was my dream, and he ruined it. he's ruined my whole year.

Man, I'm sorry it didn't work out... Well, thanks everybody for the tips, cuz hopefully it will help me out!

I got another question, though...I'm hopefully going either the last week of July or the first week of August. Would Sunday still be the best day to go? I'm, really nervous about going to Cedar Point. I've heard some pretty bad stuff about the lines.

And another question...what's the fast-pass thing all about?

One tip - definitely eat at the Midway Market by Raptor. It's the best value in the park.

Not anymore, they opened a Famous Dave's BBQ in the Marina this year. Yes, technically you have to leave the park but the restaurant is still closer to MF than Midway Market. They have a BBQ platter (All-American Feast) for four for $44.95 but it can easily feed 5.

For Fergusonat - Here is how the Freeway System works. At 11AM they start giving out hand stamps for MF, Raptor and Mantis at portable booths in front of those three rides. Plan to be in front of MF at 11AM to guarantee getting a stamp. The stamps are first come first serve and they limit how many they give out. The stamp will give you a one hour period to bypass the majority of the line to make it only a 15-20 wait. At 2PM they give out stamps for TTD, Magnum and WT. If TTD is running get a stamp. You are only allowed a total of two stamp per day.

If TTD is not expected to run while you are in the park you should get a second handstamp from one of the 11AM rides because Magnum and WT lines are generally more manageable than Raptor and Mantis

I still think that Midway Market is the best place in the park to have lunch. I actually ate at Famous Dave's in the Marina for dinner. For lunch it would be a lot easier to go to Midway Market. Around dinnertime a good thing to do is to leave the park and relax for a little while and then return in teh evening.

So, with one stamp, can you pass Mf's line more than once in that hour, or are you allowed to ride only one time in that hour period?

Thanks for the advice.

One more question...just how long are we talking for Millennium Force's line? About an hour or more? If you don't mind, a list of the major coasters with average wait-times would be awesome

You can only bypass the line once with the Freeway stamp After you bypass the line once the ride op will put a permanent marker stamp on the back of your hand over the Freeway stamp. From that point it shoul be only a 20 minute wait.

I have only gone in May and Holiday weekend to avoid lines. Someone else should be able to help with more accurate waits but I would estimate the following average times throughout the day:
MF - 2 hours
TTD - who knows, hard to estimate
Raptor - 60-90 minutes
Mantis - 60-90 minutes
Wicked Twister - 45-60 minutes
Gemini - 10-15 minutes
Magnum - 20 minutes
Mean Streak - 20 minutes
Wildcat - 20 minutes
Iron Dragon - less than 10 minutes
Corkscrew - less than 10 minutes
Cedar Creek Mine Ride - 15-30 minutes
Blue Streak - 10-15 minutes
Disaster Transport - 30 minutes

I would say that some of those waits are a little bit exaggerated. MF and TTD will probably be two hours wait though. However, Mantis and Raptor should both be about 30-40 minutes. The only time Raptor seems to have a long wait is in the early morning because it is so close to the gate. Magnum will be a near walk-on in the afternoon.

Wow! I've been to the park a bunch of times in late August, and I've experienced MUCH shorter lines:

MF - 90 minutes, maybe 2 hours for the front
TTD - two hours at least, even first thing in the morning
Mantis, Raptor, Wicked Twister, Magnum - 15 minutes
Everything else - 5 minutes or a walk on

Just curious, do you guys go on weekends or weekdays? I've been told that weekends I went are slow weekends and the lines are longer in July and August, so I just added a little bit of time to my typical waits.

And I must have bad luck with Raptor because everyone says the line is practically non-existent and I have almost experienced a line

Sundays are best, I think, but no one can truly predict how crowded the park can get.

Raptor's long lines can be blamed on the poor crew. I couldn't believe it when they stacked every train. Millennium's crew is horrible too.

Hey ya'll. Today's finally the day that I'm heading out to CP for 3 days. I can't wait to experience all of CP's major coasters & all of their other outstanding rides. I'll be there on July 25th & 26th. If ya'll want to find out who I, RCGenius, looks like, hear's how ya'll will find me on Monday & Tuesday.

I'm a brother who stands about 6'1'' & will be moving constantly everywhere to find a lot of coaster thrills. On Monday, I'll be wearing a IOA Thrillseeker t-shirt that I got during my Florida trip.
