I have to get up at 3:45 on Friday morning for a 6AM flight to Chicago

Friday - SFGAm
Saturday - Michigan's Adventure
Sunday - Wisconsin Dells (Mt Olympus/Timber Falls)
Monday - Valleyfair and maybe stop by Mall of America

I think that could be 30 new coasters

I will be at Michigans Adventure on Saturday for my first ride of the year on Timbers. Hopefully the weather will warm up since their water park is excellent. Maybe I will see you there.

My top pic for 2006 is Sheikra, although I am a little bit biased.
Im going for my first ride on Sheikra next week.

One coaster that should not be overlooked IMO is Powder Keg. That coaster looks like it's a lot of fun

coaster05 - I sent you an e-mail if you are interested in meeting up at the park on Saturday. you can respond to my e-mail as to not clutter up the TPC board.

Hey Guys, I am curious. Can we really vote on the Best New Ride of 2005 until we have ridden all of them or at least most? I think alot of this talk is actually what do we THINK the Best New Ride of 2005 will be. I am sure that Kingda Ka will beat out all the other debuts. I predict this order as the top 5:

1) Kingda Ka
2) SheiKra
3) Hades
4) Curse of DarKastle
5) Italian Job: Stunt Track

Honorable mention: Hydra: The Revenge, Powder Keg & maXair

That's a bold statement. Personally, Kingda Ka doesnt look all too amazing to me. The concept isn't at all interesting. Im sure it will be a great ride, but it doesn't look to me like the best ride of 05

ShieKra is the one I am looking forward to riding next month. On the other hand I also want to Ride the fastest and tallest rollercoaster in the world Hydra also looks cool with that crazy JoJo roll.

Sheikra, Powder Keg, Hades, and Kingda Ka all look like great rides. I'm looking forward to riding Sheikra next week, but I would also love the chance to ride the rest of these coasters. Hydra looks good in the beginning, but it's really small for a B&M floorless.

Yeah, that's why Hydra only gets honorable mention.

Kingda Ka doesn't have to look anything. If you ride it and love it, then that will be the deciding factor.

The only new coaster thats coming out this year that i've ridden so far, is Kingda Ka. I probably wont ride any of the others this year, but probably with in the next couple of years. But Kingda Ka was amazing. that Launch was AWSOME!!! and honostly i dont think i'll ever ride anything better.

Sheikra just looks amazing. But what about Powder Keg? This site seems to have mostly east coast people so we may not hear about that one for awhile.

SheiKra for me. I can't wait to ride this steel monster in July after hearing about how it's an airtime machine. I LOVE AIRTIME!!! Hydra: the Revenge should be a great one too & I really hope that I won't be disappointed by it like I've heard from some of the reviews. It probably won't happen b/c I've never been on a floorless b/f. Hopefully if I can ride Hydra: the Revenge b/f riding Kraken, it shouldn't leave me disappointed at all.

I mentioned that earlier. I think it is really overlooked. I think Powder Keg looks crazy. To me, there are four coasters that stand out to me above the rest this year:

1) SheiKra
2) Kingda Ka
3) Powder Keg
4) Hades

It look to me like this year the Disney & universal didnt come out with anything to impressive this year.WDW has soarin, ligtths action moter stunt show, and there little cinderalla thing, and all universal has is fear factor live.Last year both companys had pretty amazing stuff(Mission space,Revenge of the mummy)but this year not to much.

Well...yeah. You can't expect them to come out with major stuff ever year. Universal has done something big for the last two years, and Disney is working on a little something called Expedition Everest.

Yeah lol. Expedition Everest only costs $100 million. It won't take much to put it together.

My favorite ride so far this year, Fandango, a Moser penduluim. It is just a fun ride. Close runner up would be Kingda Ka.
